Just plain f**k this generation of gaming. PC has DRM like hell, PS3 has been more focused on shooters like the original xbox was and while the xbox 360 no longer depends on FPSes and games ported to/from the PC to sell itself it, and Nintendo has just plain given up on trying to keep up.

I agree for the most part... except for PS3 isn't dependent on shooters. PS3 is just dabbling in them now as the shooters on PS3 are mostly cross ports with the Xbox 360. Also the difference of PS3 and 360 is just that their exclusives are different categories. Like most 360 exclusives are American made shooters. Where as most PS3 exclusives aren't shooters but other genres with more Japanese influence. The only reason I prefer PS3 to 360 is that they are less shooter oriented and that I'm more interested in games with a Japanese influence as they seem to be better made and offer more challenge generally. Sadly most games are cross over ports that both 360 and PS3 have... to be honest PS3 doesn't have much less as far as games, it's more that the PS3 sections are smaller in stores compared to the 360 area. However like I said I agree games are sucking in this generation for the most part with very few exceptions :(

It's really sad how lame this generation of gaming is. I could have a quad core processor for $90 and a $150 graphics card and have a SWEET gaming computer halfway built but the question is would I ever be able to enjoy it?

I don't think the PS3 is completely dependent but it's like Uncharted, Call of Duty, Resistance and etc. Can you remember how many shooters were really popular for the PS2? Not many at all, it was FF and Kingdom Hearts. I mean if you want to call Grand Theft Auto a shooter, it did contribute a lot to the PS2s success but GTA is more than shoot shoot shoot.

I wouldn't say I PREFER Japanese games. I like quite a few pure American games KOTOR and Mass Effect are definitely in the same class as FF and Xenosaga for example.

20+ years of PC games

Best gaming machine on the market in terms of game library

Don't like the keyboard + mouse? Get a joystick/gamepad. The game's a generation ahead of your PC? Install a new video card/memory.

DRMed to hell? Most likely got a fix for that somewhere on the internet.

It's not that simple. You have to do something ILLEGAL to enjoy a GOOD library of PC games. Then you can't just install one new part. I could get a GTX 460 today but my 2.45ghz dual core athlon would bottleneck the s**t out of it, so I'd have to upgrade my motherboard since biostar never released a bios update to allow the use of newer processors (one of the selling points of AM2 was that it was SUPPOSED to allow you forwards compatibility), then I'd need a new processor, I might as well get all new ram rather than adding some since DDR3 is now cheaper than DDR2. If I didn't think ahead I'd need a new power supply but I've got that covered, not that everyone else does.

Also, 20+ years of games don't work, there is no hope in hell of ever playing Earthsiege 2 on XP or newer OSes.

I prefer Sony over Microsoft and the PS3 over the 360, because I had problems with my Xbox. Microsoft has no clue what it is to make a reliable system.
My Xbox died [the original Xbox] on me just in a year. I have my PS2 which still works somewhat new, that's 8 years of service and its still working with an exception of a few games. Where as my Xbox is broken after a year of service.

The Xbox 360, I had got RROD. And when we got it back it has been working nicely. But slowly its beginning to show signs that it might RROD again. And now its no longer under warranty.

My PS3 is having problems now too. I'm afraid of taking games out because it seems like every time I take out a game that was working fine just a few days ago, the PS3 no longer reads it and starts making a clicking noise and shuffles the disc around.

Even still, I am a Sony fan all the way.

Think about it, the original Playstation had some serious serious issues, overheating I remember having to put ice packs on it, dying, crashing, etc. But then the Playstation 2 came out. I have had mine since 2002, 8 years and they managed to fix almost all the problems of the original Playstation.

Microsoft failed with their second console. Xbox broke and the Xbox 360 is just as broken.

Ice packs? You're crazy, condensation + electricity = not good.
