Never played VII. The only games in the series I've played are SNES-era —IV and VI, and the GBA versions of V, I and II.
Also Mystic Quest, but let's just skip over that one, shall we? That was my first RPG ever. I must admit, I miss the jumping. There was something about jumping.
Always been unsure of whether I should bother with VII. Am I missing out on much?

I loved Final Fantasy VII, it's still the game I talk about to my friends and my kids when we're talking about good games, however I don't own a PS2 any more so it's a bit of an obselete game now.
You can play it on the PS3 if you still have the game. Plus it is on the PSN to download on PS3 and PSP so to say it is becoming obselete is not entirely true.

At certain areas you can jump gaps? =P
You could watch the first part of someone playing it and see if it draws you in. Plus let's not forget that it was the Number 1 game to own on Playstation 1.

I seem to recall you could jump EVERYWHERE. And hack with your equipped weapon outside battle!
Hum! Well, my brother owns a PS2. Might have to steal it from him sometime.

I see FFMQ as redeemed only because of the Doom Castle, and various battle and boss musics.

I hadn't yet gamed enough to realise that it wasn't as brilliant as I thought it was, or that it wasn't even that good. I kinda miss the days when all games had a sense of wonder to them.

I could redo the Midgar and Junon segments of the game over and over and never get tired of them. Felt there were some really strong character developments in those parts and lots of fun, too.
