Well, thanks to to the recent changes I've heard Microsoft making to it, I'd be willing to purchase one.

Even with the recent changes it's still an outrageous piece of trash if you ask me.

Go retro... Gaming build w/ W7! Everything Microsoft once made was better then the horrid garbage they produce now. 8)

True... Windows 8 makes me want to cry, which is why I haven't updated, lol.

In Europe it was announced at 600 by amazon and its the same number for all countries, its what apple does too(rather silly imo but meh)

The price set by Amazon is presently £429 (for both the day one release and standard versions) ... which converts to being $658.73 ! !!

8O Such an eye-widening price !

I'm not sure why Microsoft think that ripping off UK consumers is a good move... or why any UK consumers at all intend to buy it for that price.

Even though Microsoft reversed some DRM issues, they decided to take away some promised features. It's like, "oh, you don't like how early your curfew is? Ok. Fine. You can stay out later, but you aren't allowed to be with any of your friends."

Sometimes I feel like they have psychologists and sociologists on their payroll, because it made some idiots start a petition to bring all the DRM nonsense back, instead of just saying, "No, I'm still not satisfied" with their wallets.

I think Microsoft has a plan to bring all that nonsense back when the system is out and they have enough people hooked.

I was highly turned away from the company when they started showing attitude about how people were upset that the system had to always be on-line. It was basically, "*****pompous scoff***** Well buy a 360." Screw you, I ain't buying s**t.

And it's true, they only reversed some policies to get more pre-orders.

I don't like the camera having to always be connected for the system to work. I don't see what's wrong with being able to disconnect it and just using the game pad to access everything if that's how I choose to use the system. I'm not really paranoid of cameras in devices, but that heart rate s**t kinda freaks me out a little bit.

Lastly, HAVING to install the full game from disc before you can play it is probably the biggest deal breaker for me. What's the issue with playing from disc? I don't want to have to wait for probably 20+ gigs to install every time I play a new game. Not to mention having to constantly micro manage hard drive space if you have a large collection, and possibly having to do re-installs if you want to play an old game.

All in all, for the couple Xbox exclusives, It's really not worth all the hassles that come along with it. I don't see why anybody would plunk their money down for it, much less pre-order it. It's probably going to die in a couple months after they get it.

I assumed the mandatory install thing was fixed when MS reversed the drm thing. If not, then that is a stupid design flaw. Oh well, I don't want an xb1 in my house, regardless.

If the installs were because of DRM and you can now play from disc than I'm less biased against the system. Still wouldn't be planning on buying it either way. Definitely planning on the PS4 though. I have no need for multiple next gen consoles based on my game play habits that I observed this gen.

Maybe it's me, but I rarely have more than 3 games I'm playing at any one time that justifies consuming HDD space for it. It does take a huge load off the DVD drive to run from HDD, and since there's going t be a bigger HDD than what we now have, I suppose they figure most people don't have an issue installing/deleting games based on how much it actually gets played.

Since I wait for games to get old and I primarily buy used games, I often get games for pocket change. Anywhere from $1 - $12-15. I go through them quick. Depending on the game, it takes me 1-3 days to finish a game. Unless it's like a GTA game where I tend to just do a few missions and then switch to something else. GTA IV took me quite awhile to finish.

Generally when I finish a game I'm not interested in it at all and don't replay until maybe a few years have passed. I don't like on-line multiplayer. For the most part I find it boring and annoying especially with FPS. Don't mind how it's implemented in games like Little Big Planet and Resident Evil 5 though, where you are playing the main campaign with a random person.

If I got an Xbone, I'd be having to go through the install process every few days. There's lulls in my gaming where I don't really game for weeks and months, but when I do it's just one after another after another. I'm already not a fan of the current install times, and when I had PS Plus downloading and installing big games was a real annoyance to me.

8) Of course they do.

A large part of promotion and sales structuring involves the study of consumer behaviour in a psychological and sociological context..... and this is applicable to the promotion and sale of computer games / consoles, as much as any other consumer product.

People can even do a whole degree in the psychology and marketing of computer games, if they so wish ; with study of computer game consumers being applicable to the marketing and sale of consoles also.

Taking cookies away is a powerful psychological tool. Powerful enough to bring some people to their begging pleading knees.

Yeah I was aware to some degree of that when it comes to marketing and such. Was a little more surprised to see direct manipulation of the gaming community that bordered on being parental and authoritative. Actually much of their policies and strategies this upcoming gen seems that way to me. Unending rules and restrictions.

It's a complete turn off and unnecessary. Considering it's just a product that you are just buying to enjoy. Everything about Microsoft and how they do things comes off as manipulative, single minded, and completely greedy.

Apparently Microsoft is going to have a re-introduction for the Xbone. Apparently they revamped a lot of things and might bring down the price to $399.

I guess they got shook pretty bad to plan another reveal.

Sounds like good news for those who are planning on getting one.
