They are also sure it will be a failed venture.

And they are wrong. A number of people may be sick of parts of Nintendo formulae not changing, but it still fills a very special charm.

And yet they eat up the yearly release of EA sports, Call of Duty and every other annualized franchise which have no or less formula changes than Mario Kart (how do you innovate kart racing or any racing game for that matter?).
There's more Call of Dutys than Mario Party by a significant amount.

Nintendo has admitted the West Coast USA ports strike/lock out/shut down is holding up a good portion of their American Stock.
Supposedly an agreement has been reached between workers and the port operators on a new labor contract.

The West Coast USA ports is where all the products from Asia come in.

I must get Splatoon Amiibos! Been finding myself kind of obsessed with the charm of that series before it has even come out. Today I put down pre-orders for Splatoon Amiibo as well as Amiibo for Dark Pit, Palutena, Ganondorf, and Bowser Junior.

Not surprising, Target is currently having an Amiibo sale

They probably expected higher traffic from Amiibos than what they received.
Nintendo cannot force Target (or any retailer) to stock their products.

http://gonintendo.com/stories/234094-ru ... in-uk-targ

Rumor/leaks have it that Nintendo UK is cracking down on retailers mandating 1 Amiibo per customer.

The leaked Target document via reddit, shows a limit of two Amiibos per customer starting on Friday.
Also if the leaked document is true, Target will not be restocking any Wave 4 Amiibos including their retail exclusive character Jigglypuff.

Nintendo cannot force Target to restock product.

....cue the angry waves of irked consumers.

I'm just going to continue pretending that these do not and never did exist. Not that I go to Target at all; crappy stores, those. At least, all the ones I've been to.

Granted I have a couple of them damn figures, but I've no idea where they are. Possibly wherever the PS3 wandered off to, the accursed thing. Someday I'll look for it. ...not that the blasted thing has a use anymore. For now it can rot in whatever damn hole it fell into.

I'll stop here before this becomes a PS3-related rant. Not in the best mood today.

Target management is the one calling the shots here.
They have made a bunch of bad decisions as of late.

Not a surprise; I swear that store chain has just deteriorated quite alot by now. Last time I went there was for Christmas shopping, and, well.... it was the one I didnt buy anything from. Heck, I had a hard time even just FINDING the right sections for whatever I was looking for. Even the layout just seemed strange to me.

I'm curious though, what sorts of dumb decisions have they made recently?

Opening stores in Canada, only to shut them down less than a year later.
Pricing "errors" causing customers to pay more when they got the register.
False advertising
Employee issues
etc...

Over 40 Amiibos (most of them) are usable in Yoshi Wolly World, which is launching June 22nd in the EU and in Fall in NA.
They just give Yoshi patterns of the Amiibo scanned.

Here are some of them.
