Generally speaking I tended to like the Nintendo DS the best. It had an amazing line up of games, many of which took series that started on the Advance and improved them significantly. The 3DS is something of a mixed bag as was the original Gameboy. They have amazing games to be sure but I often had a hard time getting into the 3DS ones and the Gameboy ones while sometimes good can be a real pain to play at times.

Still you can't beat the Advance for ideas like Boktai. A game with a solar sensor so people actually want to play outside? Brilliant! Too bad the system screen did work very well in the sun though.

I got all the way through that mod, but I just can't get the thing to go back together without the case squishing the screen =/ It's just sitting in a box now, waiting for me to figure out what the heck I'm going to do with it.

Crash Bandicoot: The Huge Adventure
Crash 2: N-Tranced
Iridion 3D & Iridion II (These games can be difficult, but they have very good soundtracks.)

Let me give you a list of games to avoid.

Licensed games based on Live Action TV shows (that have no purpose having a tie-in game) or game shows.
Licensed Movie games (You know they won't be good.)
Megaman & Bass (SNES version is better.)
Sonic Genesis (It is nothing compared to the original.)
Crash Nitro Kart (Console version is better.)
Crash Purple and Spyro Orange (Worst crossover ever. Why the mini-games?)
The Simpson's Road Rage (Console version is much better.)
Sports games (Never liked them myself.)

Gosh.

Oh gosh.

Oh my gosh. Yes.

That "game" is the worst >_<

Hilariously, someone actually hacked the real Genesis Sonic to play like it, physics bugs and all.

I wouldn't be surprised now that I know this but it was released at the same time Sonic 06 was released in North America for Xbox 360.

I paid someone else to do it (Gameboy Mods UK). Not cheap (£81 shipped) but to me it was worth it to play Gameboy games on the original hardware with a screen I can see properly. Don't have the soldering skills to do it myself.

It sounds like you've already done the hard part. You should try asking on some of the forums. There are plenty of people who have done these mods for themselves and they must have had the same problems.

There are a few people here who know about soldering on the Gameboy:

Yeah, I asked on one forum, and the only reply was that one of the screens a different site sells might be thinner. I didn't really feel like taking a gamble and wasting money on ANOTHER screen that might not fit =| Also I think they were probably out of stock.

The soldering was dead simple, the only really tricky part is you have to be very careful not to get dust or prints on the screen. I wore gloves, and used cellophane tape to clean off any mistakes.
