To play older video games on newer computers, you can now use a virtual system software. On Linux I recommend DosEMU. You have to be sure to edit the processor profile in the config file to run at a slower MIPS rating, if you are running old games that rely on processor speed.
I know of quite a few games that get a divide by zero error when you launch them on too fast a computer. (This is from the routine that calculates the computer's speed)
