Anyone else seen some of the improvised weapons in Fallout 3? I love that not only can some of the random junk that you find lying around the wastelands be fashioned into weapons, but that the parts used make sense and that you can see them in the finished gun. It may actually be a good weapon, but you do feel a little strange charging into battle with a homemade dart gun where you can plainly see that it's made from a toy car, some surgical tubing and a paint sprayer. I love the railroad rifle the most though, it's built from a pressure cooker, a steam manifold, a crutch for the butt stock, and a fusion battery for power. It shoots railroad spikes, and if you critically hit someone in the head or a limb it nails the offending piece to the wall! I love it when game designers read my mind...

I know what you're gonna say, but windscar, we like setting people and things on fire!
Yeah, but take into account the actual purpose of the flamethrower is kill entrenched enemies, not to use as a primary offensive weapon. The only game where this was useful was Contra where it spewed a constant stream of fire that killed anything. Flamethrowers in games nowadays are slow to reload, only SET ENEMIES ON FIRE NOT KILL THEM INSTANTLY (play Bioshock and you'll see what I mean), and are just plain ridiculous.

I have to agree with that... I don't see the point, I'd like to see a game where all items responded to fire in a realistic way, on most games... You end up running about at people with one, setting nothing besides the people you walk next to on fire. Now, those big fire bombs, that go off and explode and set fire to everything.. that's what I'm talking about!

The Keyblade. That has got to be the stupidest weapon ever put into an RPG.

People keep saying the Keyblade is a stupid weapon, but in the games it works well enough, in real life it is not like a sword will always ct someone in half, more of jst being able to hack at them, but the Keyblades main purpose is that it is able to clense the heart from the heartless. It is also suposed to be a staff at the same time, and also having other key related uses. Here is a cool trailer showing the Keyblades.

I've got another one...while it's a cool homage, it was still a pain to get them to work right:

The Holy Hand Granade from "Duke Nukem: Land of the Babes"

I forgot about that piece of ...

most of the weapons from Silent Hill Origins. They always seem to break just when it sucks most.

Worst weapon ? Thats a tough one, but i would put the staff in Dr. Jeckyll & Mr. Hyde on the top spot.

What about the Rock-It Launcher from Fallout 3?
Handy in the sense that the ammo can be anything. Besides- ever killed a Super Mutant using a teddy bear?
I have.
It's so deleriously silly but in a good way.
