Try dipping a q-tip into rubbing alcohol and rubbing that over the metal connectors inside the game, letting it dry completely before plugging it back in, see if that helps any (try to avoid the "blowing" method that seems so popular with many groups).

OMG. I want that but I don't have a 3ds. You have to have a 3ds to get that game. :(

if you do get a ds I guess get the 3ds. It is newer and better. I just got this ds two years ago so I won't be asking for the 3ds.
I wish they didn't make the 3ds honestly. I hope they don't stop making regular ds games. I will be SO pissed off.

it says the new 3DS is 169.99
and it is 149.99 for the one I have.

It isn't a very large difference in price so I would just get the new one honestly.
The games look way better! They have super mario 3D land too. They look so good!

They're very fun games and can be played in a variety of ways and focuses. And the plots are surprisingly interesting, even though they're short...by "short" I mean that you can beat the actual plot after about 50 hours, but you can continue to play for basically as long as you want. I beat the plot in Pearl version last year and still have plenty of things to do, and Platinum has an extended plot as well as more mini-games and the opportunity to rebattle more opponents (although I really wish you could rebattle the main bad guy, but sadly you can't).

That's not very true. The plot is only very basic, and it's essentially a rehash of all the others.

I would recommend:

The World Ends With You - good story, gameplay and music.
Dementium: The Ward - interesting survival horror but it's only about 4 hours long.
Magical Starsign - fun little RPG
Hotel Dusk: Room 215 - mystery/detective style game.

I just bought myself a blue 3ds because there finally are some titles I'm looking forward to/that I want to play. Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked, Tales of the Abyss and Rhythm Thief and the Emperor’s Treasure.

I'm also looking forward to titles such as Kid Icarus: Uprising, Kingdom Hearts 3D and perhaps Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle. I'm not sure about a Rune Factory 4 though.

I really want Labyrinth no Kanata (Beyond the Labyrinth) to be localised. Same goes for Time Travelers.

I'm optimistic about that Kaio: King of Pirates and Extreme Escape Adventure: Good People Die will be localised.

Other titles I'm curious about are Theatrhythm Final, Bravely Default: Flying Fairy, Etrian Odyssey and that Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney title as well.

I definitely recommend these two. I still wonder why we never got Magical Vacation here but they released Magical Starsign.

I'd also throw in games like the Ace Attorney series (including the Investigations game, although we aren't getting the second one in English), Front Mission, Draglade, Mega Man Star Force, Mega Man Zero Collection, Suikoden Tierkreis, Sands of Destruction, and Trace Memory.

For 3DS, I still don't have one but really want Bravely Default, and Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney. I did want Paper Mario until seeing some videos of it. I also really want Mario Kart 7.

I'm annoyed that they brought out the 3DS. It seems like the same thing to me only with the 3D gimmick tacked on. Problem is I can't really play any of the new games on the old DS. As far as I know anyway.

The 3DS is a different beast from the DS in terms of power. That still doesn't really excuse Nintendo for charging almost 300 bucks for it when it first came out. Especially with the lack of games up until now. :?

I agree with that. I'd have happily stayed with the DS because I don't feel that hype about 3D films and other 3D stuff.

The line-up for 2012 and the price drop to roughly 150Euro/200USD convinced me of moving onto a 3DS eventually. A US one incidentally (I live in Europe) because for the DS I was into a lot of Japan/US-only releases... better be safe than sorry though that means I have to import all my games of course.

I hate region-lock.

I don't think there's gonna be any more coming out for the normal DS, so it's pretty much gonna be 3DS or no new releases..
