There hasn't been many new games I've been interested in playing, and then this month six games released on the PC that I've been spreading my time over. To be fair, several of those games have been rereleases of games I've played before.

Firstly, Higurashi Chapter 8 came out and though I didn't think it was a great ending to the series up to par with what came before it, it was still very enjoyable. Then Command & Conquer Remastered came out last week and I've been going through the campaigns. Completed the GDI campaign on the original game and now I'm playing Red Alert - I loved the original game back in the day but this is the first time I'll have played Red Alert. Then Touhou Mountain of Faith, Subterranean Animism and Undefined Fantastic Object released, of which I've 1cced. I've yet to finish the True Last Bosses of the latter two, and am currently working on Subterranean Animism's with some progress. Lastly, I've picked up Persona 4 Golden, one of my favourite JRPGs of all time. I picked up a Vita back in the day just for this game, but don't have it anymore and it's just as great as it was back then.

Besides all those recent releases, I've also been still playing a lot of ZeroRanger. I'd really like to 1cc it, and I feel maybe it'll happen in the next few months. The closest I've got up to is stage 2-3, which is the penultimate level, but I'm still not consistently getting there and still making frequent mistakes in the early game. I need to practice the second loop more but there's still plenty of room for me to improve prior.

Been playing Psychonauts recently. I needed a new platformer in my life (I've been playing Alice: Madness Returns far too often) and I really love it!

Alice Madness Returns? You have fine tastes.

Nearly finished with Alien: Isolation (finally was able to get it since I have a Switch, used to borrow it from the library ~5 years ago and would play on my brother's X-Box); I love it so much, but that's likely due to the fact that Alien is my favorite movie, and the game is very faithful to that film for a lot of source material.

I just bought L.A. Noire this morning since the Nintendo e-shop is having a huge sale on a lot of games apparently, so I'm excited to play that.

Heroes of Might And Magic 3, Project Diva Megamix and Strawberry Vinegar are my go to games lately.

I've been playing Touhou Mountain of Faith again after its rerelease on Steam, but given that I'd already completed it on normal difficulty I decided to try and clear it again on hard. After many hours of attempts I finally managed to 1cc it using Reimu's forward focus shottype.

I've been playing Trails of Cold Steel 3, which I hated the first time but after playing the previous games I appreciate that it is probably the best in the series. The characters and writing are a lot more tolerable but the story jumps the shark the moment that they start revealing things (which they barely do; this is an 80-100 hour long game where the first 3/4 is mostly meaningless). The battle system is really fun to break.

Also bought Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X while it was on sale on the Playstation Store. Played an hour before. It's good! I don't play many rhythm games so I don't have any insight to give about the mechanics but it's cute and the songs are good.

I've been replaying the first Fable game. I haven't played the second yet since I don't remember much of the first, but I kept putting off playing it due to having other things to do. Now that I have free time I'm finally able to.

I played some of the new Pokémon Shield DLC. Out of everything to reinvigorate myself with the game was an expanded selection of Pokémon, especially getting Krookodile. I just could not quite make myself happy with my team before, which I think were making me not as excited to complete the dex, but Krookodile is something I have not used since gen 5, felt right. Joined my female Meowstic something that was a mainstay of gen 6, like a best of.

Also playing The Last of Us 2, taking my time and not letting supposed controversy affect my opinion. I can at least be sure that I will play to the end, which feels good because I have had a bit of a struggle of choosing to commit to a game to finish since I beat Doom Eternal, other than having played Animal Crossing every day, just recently managing to get all the rooms, and a house score high enough for the golden house model.

I have really been looking for an RPG to get sucked into, where it could feel like I am able to make the character my own, especially not playing a generic male character, but it has been difficult to find something that connects with the feeling that I have been looking for.

I beat Koishi in Touhou 11 Subterranean Animism's extra stage, which is considered to be one of the hardest in the series. It took me more attempts to clear it than any other prior; there were at least 66 attempts where I reached the first attack of the mid boss and I know I reset it after numerous deaths prior. I remember it not being that long ago that I couldn't even understand how many of her attacks worked. Anyway, I'm very glad to have completed it especially since I've recently added a Koishi figurine to my collection and now I can say I've beaten her.

Football Director, on a Commodore 64 emulator

Last played this in the mid-1990s on an actual C64, and even at that time it was regarded as a bit of a dinosaur, being text-only. Still, I loved it then and still do now. :D

I'm not big into games in general, but some friends and I get together to play Catan and Fluxx on the weekends. I'm not good at either, but It's fun social time.

Decided to clean up some unfinished things in God of War on PS4, specifically to try to beat the Valkyrie queen after a couple years of not. A bit out of practice I got my axe handed to me, went to upgrade some powerful armor, completed the Trials of Muspelheim, and just managed to beat the Valkyrie Queen, Sigrun. Woah, that took quite a bit of effort, quite a bit of raging, pulling from my experiences of other bosses like Sword Saint Isshin, Nightmare King Grimm and Orphan of Kos. But I beat her, that is one more tough game boss to add to my belt.

Might just try to finish off the other trophies while I am here.

Since Halo 3 finally came to PC, I went ahead and started it a few days ago as I gave up console gaming around the time Halo 3 came out and never got the chance to play it.

So I finally finished it

I don't like how the last portion of the game is just nothing but Flood, my enjoyment dipped immensely in the final two hours.

The Flood aren't fun to fight on extended battles and it seems the final 2 hours of the game is just pure Flood. It's like Bungie said, "alright, what's a level tht fans REALLY hate in Halo 1? Lets do that and somehow make it even MORE insufferable!!" and to make matters worse that's how they end the game. Granted there was a pure monotony to the level design of the Library in Halo 1 which players hated, but I'm talking about monotony of gameplay which is even worse. The Covenant are much more interesting to fight because your approach to them is more varied, which helps keep the player engaged and stimulated. You always take on the Flood head-on because they' don't take cover so you're limited in your grenade usage. There is something very satisfying about watching the Covenant clump together to set up your explosives (and then hearing them scream  )

They had to fragment the Flood engagements with Covenant to parse the gameplay. They should have found ANY excuse to do it for the final levels of the game.

Overall 8/10 for me. Nice to finally have closure but the game has big design problems.

I try to split my gaming time between Greedfall and Ghost of Tsushima which is easier
said than done
