Recently finished Assassin's Creed 2. Loved it.

Now have FF XIII in my PS3 (it's a very pretty choochoo train--though I am only in Chapter 8 so far).

I have Bully: Scholarship Edition in my 360 and Assassin's Creed Bloodlines in my PSP.

Thanks to time marching on and Ebay I've just gotten around to having a go with some older, but fun, stuff.

Just finished Mirror's Edge, Ghostbusters, Mass Effect 2 (Oh wow, what a creation) and PGR4. Grinding my way through Lost Odyssey. Pretty good. Feels like a generic Final Fantasy though despite big man making it.

I am playing World of Goo on my computer. Played it many times before but it's so much fun. Hopefully I can tear myself away from the computer sometime and get back to Silent Hill 2 and Resident Evil 4, since I went out of my way to buy them and then played them for only a few hours. :?

I'm also playing Lernerfolg Grundschule: Deutsch Klasse 1-4 on the DS. It's part of my German learning regime.

Oh yeah, and Discworld also on my computer. I started that a few days ago and forgot about it.

Monster Hunter Tri. I think I've reached the twenty four hour mark and I've only had it for 5 days. I don't normally play games much, so thats an accomplishment. Best game on the wii that I've ever, ever played. Maybe one of my favorite games of all time in fact.

The best single player game there is! Yes, that would be masturbation.
Either that or Manhunt 2.
Maybe Resident Evil.
Seem like good games, with nice killing possibilities, as all games should.

I finished it a few weeks ago and thought it was not bad at all.

So I thought "Okay, cool, let's see what Gray Matter/Treyarch did after that..." and CoD3 is kind of lame =(

I wwas playing a bit of Halo Wars, I am a fan of the FPS halo games, but I have trouble with RTS, though I think I am getting the hang of it, I was mostly haveing trouble with a guarding escape ship mission, I really hate guarding games, and thus why I stopped for so long. I might have started because I think I beat ODST again the day before, I much prefer being on the ground as a shooter then clumsly trying to getting groups of infantry to attack targets.

Is there some tendency for people who make something good once to tend to slack off for the next round?

I don't know about "slacking off".

My biggest gripe is that they adopted the "Halo regenerating shields" that the other CoD games have and it takes away all sense of risk and makes the game far too easy and unrealistic.

Say what you will about medkits not being much more realistic, at least in Big Red One when a grenade explodes under your feet, you don't feel fine again in 0.5 seconds

I might have to try it on hard mode and see if my opinion improves...but...eh...

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Four years later and I still can't get enough of it. Need to get the rest of the achievements, then I'll be done, I think.
