It's a good thing I have an Xbox 360 cause this game won't run on my computer sadly, I wonder what I'll experience and I can't believe how the graphics are, I can't even look at the game with being in awe.

Is shiny!!

However, contrary to what Peter Jackson taught me, elf + bow + mammoth := win. Maybe in another few dozen levels....

;)

Can you get "stuck?"

I know I can teleport to known cities I've visited which is great I don't believe Fallout 3 had this did it? The reason I ask is I went exploring in Fallout 3 and saw the capital it's an amazing game! But then came across these 2 yellow brute enemies that killed me in two seconds they cornered me into a tunnel and there was no way out!! !! !! Is this game like that? Or can you perhaps just teleport to an old visited city if you are off the beaten path? Exploring was great in FO3 but not when I got cornered into a tunnel (subway system area) with two doors but BIG yellow brutes outside each door. Exploring is fun and fine as long as I don't get "stuck" unable to move on due to enemies that are WAY overpowered vs. me. :-) Thanks!! !!

Man, i feel so slow in this game. Did everyone else start playing it last week and gotten this far already? I mean I'm not playing 24/7 - so far I am only up to level 11 or 12 I think, and still in the midst of the main quests (just attended the embassy party). Anyway, I will say the game is addictive, but having not really played any RPG's since the very first ones that used 3D type engines (i.e. Ultima Underworld: The Stygian Abyss, which was released in the early 90's) I am pretty shocked by how little the genre has evolved - yeah, graphics are better but the gameplay really is not.

I started playing it midnight after a visit to the midnight release. Then I didn't sleep for 18 hours playing the game. Pretty much just powergame it.

It's okay, ScrewyWabbit, I'm only level 8. Then again I only played about 6-8 hours or so with lots of breaks inbetween.

i want to get it on steam but i have doubts my computer can run it, it looks amazing and the dragon fight in the trailer is epic, haven't finished oblivion's story yet, i have to much fun doing side quests dungeon diving, and random exploring. it makes me miss fallout 3 though for some reason.

i want to get this game but i had to pay off a toaster so i don't have to go upstairs to nuke my food, [i take very long to eat]. and a bigger tv because 16 inches or whatever was kinda small. i now have a 27 inch tv or 37 inch i don't remember.

but i have 50 dollars to my name i have to keep 100$ in there to avoid getting charged out the wazoo. and i don't like just charging things on my credit card without having the money needed to pay it off.

so can't get it, which sucks i hope the trailer made the game look better then what it really is [like sonic adventure's intro] or i'm going to go insane till my money builds up.

i hope that dragon fight is actually a boss battle. i love dragons. :)

those dragons are sort of like bosses, but are more or less normal enemies you can encounter any time after a certain point.

I've encountered two in the south eastern side of the map. One was part of the storyline but the other one was just hanging around this volcanic marshy sort of area fighting mammoths

If you kill one of these roaming ones you get a "dragon soul absorbed" message pop up.

I'm uncertain if it makes your shout powers stronger or not

You have to be carefull not to get cocky, you might be having an easy time that even dragons are no issue, then bang the game throws harder enemies, and the dragons become a lot tougher, just got beaten by a dragon very easly, sudenly its breath was very strong, didn't help I was in some hot springs with very little cover. I will deal with it tomorow. Still not as bad as the Blood dragon that sent me cowering behind rocks, but then attacked the outskirt of a town and easily killed two people before I could get close.

Anyone else a bit annoyed at the factions? The mages have little control, the theives are bastards with no honor, Empire are elitest douche bags, Stormcloaks are racist, brotherhood practicly lost their purpose. Seems the only thing I can count on doing their right thing are daedra. speaking of Daedra, anyone come across Sheogorath, seems daedra princes can be previously human.

Dragons are certainly leveled. The "short bus" dragons are about a level 10, but much, much tougher ones exist.

As for absorbing more dragon souls, they don't make your shouts more powerful, but they are used to learn new words for your shouts. A three word shout is more powerful than a one word shout.

Geez, I've already deleted two characters with more than 20 hours each and now have another that just went over 25 hours. Has anyone heard when the moding kit is to be released?

awesome! dang your making me want this game more, and i still can't afford it. >_<

as for the screenshots posted are those gameplay or cutscenes, i can't see no interface, but damn either way those are beautiful. do you need a really badass computer to play it? by the screenshots it sure looks that way, i'm having doubts mine can, i guess the ps3 is good as anything, can't mod though.

mine is a standard hp gaming computer that is stock, been that way since i bought it, i think it does meet the requirements. but i might need a better video card, i have enough ram. course my compy met the dragon age requirements and that meant jack, it still runs like crap. hell my last compy qualified and it was a basic computer and way less powerful, and it still runs about the same on both machines.

i say bioware is made up of ea's rejects, every game i got from them have issues, memory leak, compatibility issues, or are just plain finiky as all hell. heck fallout 3 is more stable then all the games i got from bioware combined.

anyway rant over.

i need to stop looking into this game i keep wanting to get it, more and more. agh... and minecraft is becoming a legit full release game in 3 days as well, what a time to be broke. >_<

i hope it isn't a 15 gig file

well, those are actually in-game/gameplay screenshots, but don't seem it because the HUD fades away when not needed. Elders Scrolls Games don't have in-game cutscenes, its all done using the actual game engine.
as for system requirements they are quite a bit on the low side. Requirements being...

OS: Windows 7/Vista/XP
CPU: Dual Core 2.0Ghz
Memory: 2GB RAM
Hard Drive: 7GB
Video Card: DirectX 9.0c compliant with 512MB of Video RAM

as for video cards... if you want to play it all maxed out I would highly recommend playing on a Nvidia 460GTX or higher, or the AMD/ATI Radeon Equivalent.

As for Bioware games... the only one I ever had issues with running was Neverwinter Nights 2. Then I got the storm of zehir expansion and it got fixed right up somehow.

oh i'm kinda new to elder scrolls in general, but on most games cutscenes tend to look nicer then the gameplay parts. oh i was wondering why there was no hud, is there an option to have the hud visible at all times? i'm weird but i hate it when my hud fades in games. the only thing i wish i could change in ratchet and clank 2. i get disoriented when my hud fades away i need to see my health bar at all times. darksiders has the same malfuction. alot of people hate huds i know but i like to have as much info on the screen about my character. i like darn ui in fo3 and i have everything displayed at all times. i don't even turn the hud off on screenshots.

i don't care about playing at the highest quality, i just want it to be able to run at 30 fps at least or 20fps. and at least be able to see what is on the screen. after my 2 year war with dragon age origins that is still going i could care less if the game looks high def. stability to me is way more important. now fallout 3 is acting up as well. but i had so many problems with dragon age i thought it was going to harm my computer and deleted it at one point. now i have to either push myself to play it, or see a video of some thing i have yet to see in the game on youtube to push past the memory leak, the fits it has when i run a music player in the background, i hate the game music and i love to listen to my music at pretty much all times on my computer, helps keep my stress down, the crash to desktop at pure random, and the stuttering. i would pay someone if they could fix this game for me a little bit so i can play for at least an hour without getting one single issue. but no one out there has a fix for any of the issues i have that actually work.

bioware games cause me more headaches then my racing thoughts and chaotic thought process ever could. heck dragon age is my enemy when it comes to getting it to run right.

i have physicaly punched my computer tower in rage over dragon age origins. the only thing i lose patience to deal with on the computer is dragon age.

anyway rant over.

anyway i'm going to have to wait longer to get it, found a addon for borderlands that added a ton of stuff and raised the level cap. i get my spending habit from my dad, thank god not as bad as he can get. i have some self control.

but this game is awesome looking! looks almost real. and i watched a review i can't wait to play around with character creation. i've never seen another game that has a set up that adapts to your gaming style. i'll probably end up as a warrior berserker thing, that never blocks or dodges and is like a glass cannon. all power no defense.

can you dual wield? i think i saw a clip on the review of a dual wielding character... i may have been seeing things though. haven't been eating well or sleeping well.

if so that would be me. :D

People complaining about bugs in Bioware games in a thread about a Bethesda game? Does... Not... Compute... in fairness though for the time I've been playing Skyrim I've had no issues except the occasional crash on restore from a minimised state, which seems to be an issue with the game engine since it's been present in Oblivion and Fallout 3.
