My nostalgic gaming memories? Playing Sonic 1, 2, 3, and Sonic and Knuckles on the Sega Genesis, as well as the original Mario trilogy on the NES. Unfortunately, I had the Doki Doki Panic version of SMB2, but I did eventually play The Lost Levels on SNES's SMB All Stars. It was frustrating at times, but overall, a fun challenge.

Playing Crash Bandicoot 2, Tomb Raider 2 or Resident Evil (all for PSX) and Sonic 1-Sonic & Knuckles gives me an immense sense of nostalgia. The PSX games were the first games me and my brothers got for the PlayStation back in 97-98, and I've played the old Sonic since I was 3 years old. But I have loads of good memories of old games!

In 1994, we used to have the Sega Channel. I remember when Sonic 3D Blast first came out and we kept going to Burger King to scratch off a card that gives a code to unlock the next 4 (or 5?) levels. We also used to have a old Macintosh that had a game called Thinkin' Things 2. It had a option where you could design stop+go animation using colored balls.

Does anybody remember this?

My brother waking me up in the middle of the night telling me he is about to beat Alex Kidd. I will never forget that moment, it was kinda adorable of him :D

And also the first times I played Sonic. My all time favorite game character. I still even play them, every now and then.

Playing The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask and beating the tar out of Majora using the Fierce Diety mask. Help every character and get every mask, and your reward is the capability to go nuts on any boss in the game. Any of the five of them. Chug some Chateau Romani Milk for infinite mana and go to town.

I have lots of old gaming memories (particularly the click of the Duck Hunt gun and watching my mom jerk the controller upwards as if it would help Sonic jump higher!).
The first thing I thought of, though, when I saw thread is the first time you find a zombie in the first Resident Evil and he turned around with blood dripping down his face... So began my long-term infatuation with survival horror!

Tie Fighter on PC.

There was a mission prior to taking out a Corellian Corvette, and I reasoned that it had to have a massive gunnery blind spot aft of its drive ports. I selected a Tie Bomber with two heavy bombs. Flew AROUND the perimeter of combat until I was aft of the ship and headed in, weapons disabled...the weapons lock made me a target.

Once I was close enough, I turned on weapons and dual launched my two bombs...collapsing the ship's shields and breaching the hull in one strike. Fortunately, the game could record and play back flight footage from a 3rd person view. The playback shows my little tiny ship coming in and doing a 90 degree vertical turn right before the ship starts exploding. The guys watching me were all "What the FRACK did you just do?"

Too bad it didn't count on that mission as the capital ship was not the mission objective.

I remember being home from school sick once and playing through Mario 3 and beating it for the first time without using warp whistles. Sometimes when I'm sick, I can vividly recall that day.

Well i'm still waiting for official confirmation of whether prince of persia 6 will ever be released, but it's got me thinking that it's been 10 years since the game was released in 3D on PS2. i still have the game, but i wish i could go back in time (no pun intended) and play it again for the first time.

others game i still remember fondly are Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven. Especially when listening to the 1930's soundtrack on YouTube, and i remember my brother playing half life on pc, and my first ever pc game Croc: Legend of the Gobbos, and of course Championship Manager 3

2D games i remember:
Alex the Kid
Tiny Toon Adventures
Sonic The Hedgehog
Kung Fu Kid
RoboCop vs Terminator
Mortal Kombat
