Amiibo: More games, more content...
I found most of them with great ease at my local Meijer's.
Meijer's is selling the Splatoon 3-pack for $30 instead of $35.
You're lucky if you found MOST with ease...I lucked into a Ness because my sister has a friend who works at a Gamestop ( so I got a normal priced one and canceled my import order ), and I got the Inkling trio from Wal-Mart's online store, but the only ones I've seen have been Silver Mario and the individual Inkling Boy & Girl. Tried the entire time frame for Lucina on Amazon but no luck
Meijer's must be unique to your area dood, I have never heard of it before you started mentioning it here...my only physical options to seek Amiibo are a Gamestop, a Wal-Mart and a Target....

Dont get too jealous: If he found them at a Meijer's, he got lucky that they were even there. There's ALOT of those stores around near me, and in a couple of areas I travel to frequently, and... let's just say, you *dont* find amiibos there. You just dont. Unless you want Mario and Peach. You can sure find Mario and Peach.
I'm often at those stores on many days (sometimes at more than one), as there's always SOMETHING I need to get (food, as a rule, or some sort of whatsit that is of practical use/necessity), or sometimes just to walk around and get a bit of exercise, and I always stop in at the electronics section when I'm in there as part of my routine... and yeah. They dont have the new amiibos here. They barely have the old ones. The shelves are actually unchanged, it's been the same ones hanging in the same exact spots as before, nobody buying them. According to those I know that work at locations a bit further from the ones near me, this is the case there too. Not JUST with amiibos, they're just.... not very good at keeping things in stock.
Meijer's is decent as a supermarket, but.... ehhh. MOST of their locations arent very good at all of the other stuff. Doesnt help that the management can be notoriously screwy at times (depending on location of course). This may be different in or near large cities, where management may give more of a damn.
Granted, the area I'm in (middle of nowhere) and the areas I tend to frequent (other places in nowhere) affect this sort of thing somewhat (it's damn near IMPOSSIBLE to find a good electronics store around.... anywhere nearby, and electronics sure as hell dont seem to be much of a priority anywhere around here), but still. Not the best store chain ever. It's useful but it definitely has it's problems.
Better than Walmart though...

Technically my Meijer is in a country town an hour north of Detroit.
Though the Meijer's here in Metro Detroit are well kept and stocked.
The reason why you keep finding Peach, Mario, and other famous characters, is that corporate management ordered tons of famous ones because they believed they'd sell the best.
Corporate ordered very little of the lesser characters because they didn't think they'd sell well.
This added with selling the stock via preorders, makes it near impossible to get lesser characters.
It doesn't help that Target has officially ended stocking Amiibos in store with Wave 4 and Splatoon forcing you to order them on their online store.
Also Target isn't restocking Wave 4.

No not luck here...
I've been able to find all of the Amiibo waves here in Metro Detroit with little to no issue.
I have 2 Meijer's near me that are well kept and stocked and get all the stuff on launch day.
I also have a huge mall called Great Lakes Crossing, 8 miles south of me that has most stores, including 2 Gamestops and some independent gaming stores.
I have a horrible managed Target and Best Buy as well across the free way from the mall.
There is also a Sams Club and Costco near the Target and Best Buy.
A Gamestop that is located in a less busy shopping center in the middle of the country also exists about 6 miles from me.
If I'm willing to drive a bit further I can go to another well stocked Meijer's, Walmart, and Gamestop which are all part of a big shopping complex.
I have no storage of retail stores near me.
Also my two Meijer's are 24 hours...
I'm done with Amiibos until Mewtwo and Blue Yarn Yoshi comes.

Yeah, very different from the Meijer's that are around me. They're all A: not run very well (seriously, some of the management is either perpetually high, insane, or has an IQ lower than a potted plant. This isnt just me making assumptions either; this is me having directly dealt with them, and also seeing and hearing about what happens there from friends that work at these stores... and EVERYONE I know works at one, because I dont even) and B: *badly* stocked. I mean, seroiusly, if I need something that isnt food, yet I also do need the food, THEN I'll go to the Meijer... but if I need something that isnt food and DONT also need food, I dont bother to go there, because I know full well what I'm NOT going to find there: everything.
Seriously, they suck. All of them (in my region, anyway). When I say they're "decent" I mean they're decent only compared to the other chains around here (almost all of which are Walmart, and Target; the only exception is the very occaisional Jewel stores). I mean, middle of freaking nowhere. If I were to go either south, or west, from my current point, it's nothing but grass and farms for hours, and hours, and hours... it's mostly grass and farms where I *am* at, except for Naperville (just north of me, and if I go past THAT, we're back to grass again, all the way through till Wisconsin), which is basically just one huge clump of random stores, nearly all of which are clothing related. The most annoying part: NO FREAKING BOOKSTORES. As an avid reader, this is REALLY irritating. Even in the giant blob of stores and a couple of full-sized malls, there's *one* bookstore. Just. ONE. And it's used books only.
....okay, sorry, I'll stop here before this becomes yet another "I hate this place" rant, I've probably done enough of those already...
The only thing I'm glad for is that I'm not anywhere near Chicago. Ugh. I hate no place more than that city. And I'm REALLY not good in urban environments. I've lived in the middle of freaking nowhere all my life, and in the middle of freaking nowhere I shall stay, regardless of the actual state I am in (other house in Wisconsin is even MORE "middle of nowhere", but at least they have bookstores).
I'm losing track of where I was going with any of this, provided I was going anywhere at all. I havent had my caffiene yet and need to go do a drive that I reeeaaallllyyyy dont want to do. It's below 50 degrees outside. Gonna be one of those days...
Yes Nintendo is releasing a Chibi Robo game and Amiibo.
Announced earlier today in Japan.
Nintendo CEO, has stated they are indeed increasing Amiibo production but it will take time to catch up to the unexpected demand.
I have Shulk....I have Ness...now I desperately need my buddy Chibi-Robo!
and the game better get localized, I'm still PO'd Nintendo didn't release the 3rd game in the US ( or ANYWHERE outside Japan for that matter... ).

The second game sold so bad in Europe that no retailer wanted to stock it, not even Amazon.
The first game sold so bad in North America, that only Walmart was willing to stock the second game.
The fourth game (if you can call it that), photo finder was digitally released everywhere
Chibi-Robo is really that unpopular outside of Japan.
Don't expect this game to come over either...

Was it REALLY necessary to kill my hopes? This stuff is pretty much all I have in life, just let me keep hoping for this and Mother 3 and a new StarTropics....I don't care how little chance there is, I need SOMETHING to hope for that at least COULD happen
Besides, the original had a low print run....Park Patrol was nothing like the original and was Wal-Mart only ( which btw wasn't even mentioned until the store flyer days before it's release )...the 3rd game, which played like the original and was a direct sequel to it, was stupidly Japan only...Photo Finder was a great concept, but the 3DS camera is garbage ( N3DSXL's is awesome though ) and thanks to the last update to it the game no longer even functions ( try to use the Chibi PC to play ANYTHING outside checking out our Nostaljunk an the game crashes & kicks you back to the home menu ). This is a side-scroller, likely an eShop title AND it has an Amiibo...it does have a chance, we'll just have to wait until E3 to find out won't we?

The new Amiibos for September are:
Friday 9/11 (NA)-
8-bit 30th anniversary Mario (Classic available at all retailers, Modern part of the Walmart Wii U console bundle at launch in NA)
* They just give you a mega mushroom (not regular mushroom) in Mario Maker (which launches alongside it)
Bowser Jr (Smash)
Dr. Mario (Smash)
Gannondorf (Smash)
Olimar (Smash)
Friday 9/25 (NA)-
The Retro 3-pack (Smash) will contain G&W (you change to the Amiibo to the other poses), R.O.B and Duck Hunt for $35
They are not being sold individually (see package above)
Also on this date, the Animal Crossing Amiibo Cards Series 1 will launch in NA alongside AC:HHD (3DS).
Each pack in NA will contain 6 cards at $6, (each card contains the NFC chip and are thick)
The AC cards will summon the animal pictured on the card, to your town in HHD, for those who are too impatient to wait to gain them through gameplay.
The cards are used to summon the animals in Amiibo Festival (Wii U) later this.
Series 1 contains 100 animals, the link below shows all 100 animals.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amiibo#Li ... iibo_cards
Note of interest AC:HHD will have connectivity with AC: Amiibo Festiival allowing you to transfer houses and animals to the Wii U game.
One final note, for those who missed it.
On November 15th for $40, Nintendo will release Mega Yarn Yoshi Amiibo (green only).
It functions as a normal amiibo.
It is 3x size of the regular amiibos.
I will update again at the end of September (thought monthly updates would be better than a massive deluge).

Huh. Shovel Knight, really?
It's interesting to see just how far that particular indie title has gone. I admire all of the progress and success they've had with it.
I have yet to play it myself. One of those sorts of things where I keep meaning to do so, but I keep being distracted by other things instead (right now, mostly Isaac on the Wii U, and Splatoon).
I also hear rumors that he might end up being a DLC character for Smash? Of course, the validity of any rumors is very questionable, but that's what I've heard anyway.
the only way to get most of the amiibo is to buy from one of those jerks that buys them out just to resell them to desperate collectors.
i would never do that. i would rather be locked out of the features forever than to give them the satisfation of profiting off of me.
i do have a little amiibo collection. i have been slowly building it from leftover amiibo from after their raids.
