People can like the game all they want. In my view- its just another way people are addicted to their phones.

I'm not super old, but I remember when out of public: people would actually interact with each other. Not just stare at a phone almost always. I realize many people have good stories about meeting someone through the game and then chatting, but that doesn't excuse the phone addiction the world has.

The world is being less and less social and its a bit sad really. I admit I'm not the most social person in real life- but thats due to lack of friends. When I use the world social- I primarily mean in real life. Typing and texting to someone is fine and all, but never a good replacement for the real life aspect, in my view at least.

I have to agree, lately I've been having dreams about visitors knocking on my door lol sad isn't it. I still remember a time when people would verbally talk a lot in public. Now people seem to often give me a strange look if I say hi. I grew up in a place where conversations with strangers was normal. Goodness forbid some sort of solar flare knocks out cell towers people will lose their minds.

Judging by my Facebook wall, the people most obsessed with this game are the ones who hate it (most of whom have never played it).

what's up with that, right? the "phone addiction gimmick" argument, yes, i get it. but my friend who has been playing it lately says that she's been seeing tons of posts from otherwise positive and encouraging people expressing outright disdain for the game, insinuating that anyone who plays it must be stupid, and saying that "people should stop posting about pokemon". what is up with that?... why do people feel superior for not playing it? i'm sure those people who post those disparaging comments also post all the time about "stupid things" that they like but no one else cares about. so what, right?

Some people might....I think there are a lot of people who would be just fine though. I mean I recently just went camping with my boyfriend, my brother and his girlfriend and enjoyed ourselves just fine without phone service.

I hadn't noticed this thread, but I've been playing for several weeks and playing a lot. I only read the first and last pages, but wow people.

I've already lost weight and my mental health feels excellent. I have a lot of pent up things to say, and interacting with other trainers has given me a safe opportunity to talk to strangers. Since I recently moved here, everyone is a stranger. Within reason, people can easily accept another person geeking out about something they both love. Having gotten into a rhythm, I talked to some other random folks and got business cards and connections.

People may have never played outside before or not for a very long time, and have to learn or re-learn the rules.

It's easy to hate on fully grown people acting like kids over a simple goofy game. It also feels awesome to be one of those goofy people, so hate on, haters.

http://www.polygon.com/2016/8/2/1235058 ... go-lawsuit

And it begins. I knew a lawsuit would happen. I do realize they have made changes to the game to protect properties (opt-out features, etc), but that should've been in the game in the first place! Obviously the game makers werent thinking and just somehow thought all places everywhere would be fine with random people trespassing to get Pokemon. If they didn't think that- they honestly should've made sure gyms and stops werent at certain places- cemetaries and so on.

I honestly think more lawsuits will happen because even though there is a decent range to catch the Pokemon.. people still trespass! The game makers and game players should be held responsible for their actions.

i would be very surprised if they hadn't been expecting a wave of lawsuits all along. i imagine it must be one of the main purposes of their experiment to begin with: testing the legal waters

Listening to local police radio again. Officer calls in to station: "If anyone reports a stolen purse in the area, I'll be bringing one in that the Pokepeople found in the park."

I downloaded Pokemon Go on my phone and enjoyed it. I never played Pokemon since it came out in the 90s. So far I love to play it.

If people are climbing over fences, and ignoring no trespassing signs it is them who should be facing penalties. I agree game players who do that should be held responsible for their actions, but what wrong actions are the creators guilty of? They didn't say 'our game is an excuse to illegally trespass' and I doubt they're doing any of it themselves.

Also though pretty sure people are allowed to visit cemetaries during hours they are open, the problem would be if people try and sneak in when it's closed.

Maybe if we sent them another $400 million in unmarked bills we could get them to release Pikachu. :D

"Iran bans Pokémon Go, citing 'security concerns'"

http://www.neowin.net/news/iran-bans-po ... y-concerns

"The government of the Islamic Republic of Iran issued a ruling today banning Iranians from playing the popular mobile app Pokémon GO, citing unnamed security concerns."

"The ruling came from the Supreme Council of Virtual Space, a body set up in 2012 by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to monitor and control the internet. The council did not detail why it has banned Iranians from playing the game, saying only that "security concerns" had led to the ruling."

This is pretty fun! I'm around level 11 as we speak, and running just around my apartment has helped me out with hatching some eggs.

Also, I have a 747CP Flareon named 7 Grand Dad. He's really my baby, to be honest.

One of the cashiers in Walmart told me there was a rouge Mew running around in the store and that I could try and catch it if I want... Does she even know that Mew is the world's most rare Pokemon and a lot of kids would do anything for just a glance at Mew?
