Might be Towering Inferno:

Though I don't remember rescuing people, I think you just put fires out.

It indeed was. I could have sworn people had to be rescued, though. In any event, this was the game. I remember the building from the screenshot. Thank you.

Ah, yeah, I just checked the manual, and right in the intro it says you do rescue people. It threw me off a little because it doesn't show it in any of the screenshots.

The first game that I remember being mine was Kirby's Avalanche on the SNES. My first console, was my Game Boy Pocket, which I got with a Batman game, and then later that same night, Kirby's Dream Land. I have no clue what the first game I ever played was, but I believe I have a memory of playing a NES version of Super Off Road when I was 2, this is kinda hard to say for sure, since its so fuzzy, but just last year I was able to confirm that the image I had in my head for that game was actually accurate. Knowing exactlywhen the firsttimeI picked up a controller was, is impossible to really say. Its possible also that my guess of when that memory had to take place is off.

My first was a Commodore 128 with a whole stack of disks filled with games. I still haven't played them all.

I have no idea, I was introduced from a very early age, like when I was 4 or something I think. It may have been one of the megamans or Kirby's adventure.

I started on the Commodore 64. 38911 Bytes free! Those were the days.
When you needed not one but two of floppies to stick in that rattling mode 1541 floppy disk drive, just to complete a school project.

But this is about games and my first game ever was the Apache simulation game. You had three enemy density settings and three difficulty settings. And you could play in Vietnam or in the desert.

I also remember red storm rising in which you would command a Los Angeles class SSN to go out and hunt Krivaks and Victor III submarines. And of course those pesky diesel electrics.

My first video game system and Console I had was the Nintendo 64 and the N64 version of Cruis'n USA. That game has a good soundtrack for driving, and one song "House Special" is good for driving on very curvy roads.

RBU Attack! Dive! Dive! Knuckle in the water, Noisemaker, Seaconditions, MK-48 adcap, PAP from the side, BOOM!! ! And a group of sealances raining down on their a**es :)

My first game was a Space invaders clone on the Commodore Vic 20. Back in those days, games were expensive and came on cartridges... I had like that game and maby 2 others that came with magazines that i had to write in every time (no tape recorder)...

Needless to say, the C64 + Tape/1541 Diskdrive was a BIG improvement.
