Sure they're jerks to Veronica but they seem chill with me and still have this cool gear...

These things seem to be done In fairly similar ways in each faction you choose. I chose wild card and got the Kahns to leave peacefully. I didn't sneak in to fight Caesar though. I chose to side with the BHOS although it did nothing for the outcome of the ending as they didn't pitch in to help. I'm curious from your end pic... did the rangers follow you throughout the whole end mission? Because that seems like the best squad possible for the end. Wild Card sucked because those damn robots get dropped insanely fast and they don't kill much despite their supposed upgrade. Also When I tried to confront Caesar and instead found him gone... My bots friggin ditched me at the gates and I had to fight the Legion single-handedly. I'm just curious to know if they tried to make wild card a harder option than the others since in wild card you are practically fighting as a one person army... were you left to fight alone for a majority of the end mission? Also I think playing the NCR may be the best as far as not having enemies. I noticed the rangers are the toughest enemies to confront... so I practically sh** when I saw the end was to fight 5 of them and the general

They offered to help about half-way through the scenario and followed me to the fight with Lanius. They're rather hardy and can hold their own well. :)

As for where to find them, they're supposed to spawn randomly at NCR outposts when you get closer to the end of the game. Hoover Dam and the outpost nearby seem to be the hotspots for them.

Okay thanks I'll have to look for them when I progress the story more :)

Yeah I'm working for mister house this playthrough which sounds kinda lame because I anticipate the same resulting end battle honestly. I mean I'm likely to be fighting with Robots again against Caesar and the NCR. I'm not sure what will be different other than there will be an old withered rich guy holding the chain to my collar

I've done some things in advance like Helped the Brotherhood and the Boomers so I hope he doesn't give me some task like go destroy the Boomers and the Brotherhood

Just a note to the people here I started a new topic called "Fallout New Vegas strong character builds". I posted my character build since I feel confident with it now and I'm level 20. I said I'd post it here but I realized I'm very thorough so I figured typing that stuff here would muddy up the discussion and that kind of information could be posted there if others want to do the same and post their builds to help others out or just show off your build or play style. That way also it's easy to find that information in particular I guess. I think it's the longest post I've ever made so if other people did the same, this topic would become very cluttered... I hope nobody minds that I started another topic on the same game

I'm just curious. Would anybody here like to know about the land mine glitch I found? I've been playing with it and seeing how high I can go in the new Vegas Strip area. It lets me get up to some unreachable areas but after about 5 mines I seem to have hit an issue that I can't lift them any higher. It's still a neat trick though so I wondered if anybody else would like to know about it :D

I don't know that PC gamers would care because I assume it's possible through console commands to get to places you shouldn't be, but for console gamers this stuff is always fun to screw around with :)

I was trying to make it to the perch halfway up the Gomorrah sign but only made it to the piece that says Restaurant No Vacancy.

I found out my camera was set to take massive pictures some reason :? So I figured that out and now my pictures fit :P

Okay I don't want to keep posting too much stuff but I just learned how to make my pictures fit so I'm just re-posting a serious picture of my character... since I had to remove the last one I tried because it was too big and forced the screen sideways and if I didn't delete it everyone would have had to scroll sideways to read on this page :(

This was a serious picture of my character holding a new weapon I'm testing out but after I put it in my computer and stuff it made me kinda laugh :)

Image

I don't know why I just instantly imagined her saying "This is my bed... stay the hell away!"

It's still my serious picture though, so I won't keep posting pictures of her any more

I'll try out that 25mm cannon next character. :)

All my followers have died so far. :/ I only reload if my main character dies on the first play-through.

Veronica got eaten by Golden Geckos; ED-E died in a similar way to Boone (mid to high level Legion soldiers and .44 Magnum revolvers IIRC). I guess I'll miss out on any of their quests if they had them (ED-E started with the whole certain phrases about the Enclave thingy).

Still killing the hell out of everyone with the lowly Varmint Rifle (tricked out). AP for enemies with helmets, HP for no. The tricked out Hunting Rifle and Trail Carbine are obviously much better, but I haven't seen a silencer for them (I bought one for a Sniper Rifle, but I lack said rifle; I'm certain I know where to find one when I get my lockpick skill up high enough. I'll probably find one from a dead enemy soon anyway).

I was out exploring a section of the map I had never been to and found a deathclaw breeding zone. At first I almost left because... who wants to fight 8 deathclaws right? Anyway after I killed them with mines and my new 25mm Grenade Machine gun (Works well on them I think) I noticed there were still a few stragglers. I killed them with my silenced sniper rifle and took a better look around. Further into the area I noticed something black moving behind a Big rock. I climbed on top and looked down and there were 2 deathclaw mothers, 1 alpha male, 5 normal deathclaw, and 4 young. I almost booked it out of there but I figured something good must have been nearby. So I stealth sniped each and after each I'd have to hide until the caution indicator left. After a bit of time killing off the brood I jumped down and found a dead body with some awesome stuff. The body was a prospector wearing the Remnants power armor that goes to the helm I found not to long ago. I don't know what it looks like but now I really wanna know :D

Why does Arcade have to be the one to teach me power armor training?... I still can't get him to follow me until I get a higher speech skill and even then I wont know how to get him to teach me :(

What will I need to do to get him to teach me? I really want to know now :D

Once you get him to follow you. You need to get some Friendship points with him aka helping the Followers, Taking him with you on quests like That Lucky Old Sun. Take him to the Van Graffs where he would tell you "That's alot of energy weapons. Take him to the Enclave Vertibird crash where he would also comment. When you get to the mention of a upcoming battle, he would reveal his past to you and it will start up the quest "For Auld Lang Syne" which is to re-unite the 5 Enclave Remnants members. Once reunited, you meet them at the Remnant's bunker and basically persuade them to support either NCR/Legion and then one of the members would also teach you power armor training. Basically, this is something you should have done early :P.

Actually I should have link you the quest link =/

Arcade Gannon <------This is a link.

PS. On Very Hard, I noticed the robots do not drop like flies as I targeted one and they had around 400-600HP with 60 DT. So they were overrunning the legion forces. =P

Basically it looks like the exactly model from Fallout 2. Except thinner.MyNewVegas Album <---A few more here. =/

Btw, that is Cass standing next to me. (Also, AsukaHUD for changing the vanilla hud to something desirable). Also, Arcade Gannon will leave you after finishing his quest. Hence no Arcade Gannon with me. =/

@Talis, you can get power armour training if you join the brotherhood of steel too (be sure not to help hardin though). That's how I got it and it is fairly easy.

Please tell me Hardin isn't the Elder because I helped the Elder already. Who do I go to for training exactly? I'd rather get the training there since I already have the full Remnant armor and can't even get Arcade to follow me any time soon. Plus I'd rather get the training from the Brotherhood since I don't use followers anyway.

Hope it's not a dumb question but does anyone know where I can buy 12.7mm ammo in bulk?

I found a 12.7mm Sub Machine Gun in a cache with 7500 caps. I fixed it up and that little thing is a beast and you can even add on a silencer :P

It tops the light machine gun and mini gun in DPS and DAM but I can't find the ammo anywhere aside from the Brotherhood shop so far. Their shop sells the ammo in increments of 20 or so which is nothing for a machine gun. It's like how some shops sell 5.56 by the 20's since it was used in single fire guns at the start of the game and now is sold in the 100's since machine guns use them. I want to at least be able to find a shop that sells 12.7mm in quantities of 50 or so. Seriously the 12.7mm SMG seems to be the best machine gun IMO and it even gets a silencer making it an awesome choice for me. Its only drag is that its clip is only 15 bullets but I don't care because it's so awesome :D

Oh, no. I was purposely vague in case you didn't do it yet. Hardin is the person who wishes to overthrow McNamara (both will teach you power armour training but if you evict McNamara you can't side side with the brotherhood of steel at the final battle). Anyway, after you finish the quest (I think it's called still in the dark), return to the Brotherhood of Steel after three days and talk to whoever is the elder (McNamara being the better choice for the final battle). One of the options will be "I want to join the Brotherhood of Steel" and pick that one. You'll never be given a quest (McNamar requests you to got to three vaults and take components to fix the ventilation system while Hardin requests you kill all the Van Graffs (I can't remember their second name but the people in the Silver Rush) and following this quest you'll be thought how to use Power Armor (and Boone was able to wear T-45lb and T-51lb power armour afterwards too so I suspect that all companions can then use it too).

Wow thank you for telling me this. I thought I finished the brotherhood quests since right after you finish fixing the systems he says he has nothing else for you. Lol I did that my last playthrough as well. Now that I waited a few days McNamara asked me to tap a radio so I think now I'm on the final quest for them :)

I think that's kinda mean though. Why does he have to wait three days to have something new for me. It's not like everyone I talk to I take a 3 day nap at their feet and then speak to them again to make sure... I think that's kinda stupid :?

A few pics to show off since I was bored today...

First, new new character, Zengar who specializes in melee, unarmed and survival. I'm really trying to learn the ropes with melee combat with him(had to find some better melee weapons for him though, hence the sword) and I'm going to play around with the survival and ammo crafting more(since I neglected that a great deal in my first game).

Image

Next is... well just tell me what is wrong with this picture.

Next up, I cheated a bit and went exploring the empty western part of the map. This area is vast... I mean HUGELY VAST, with mountains and valleys that seem to go on forever. Why on earth is all this extra space in the game world? You could double the size of the Mojave wasteland if it expanded into all this empty area and still not reach the edges of the game world.

Once you go far enough, you'll eventually reach the Pacific Ocean? (Albeit it is a ways down and irradiated) It took me almost 20 minutes of constant running to reach the ocean at end of the world.

Image

Where I am on the pipboy map... kind of. I'm way out past the Mojave Outpost...

Image

(had to use two posts for that, bleh)

Haha I like the picture of the Powder Ganger looking over the tied up Legion Scout with the other tied up Powder Ganger. The Legionnaire in the back looks like he just came back from a walk and thinking "What the hell?"
