i almost always bring up dragon age when i think of game stability in general. dragon age is the worst game stability wise that i have bought since i started gaming back on the gameboy at 6 years of age.
yeah the minimizing issue is annoying but i play in a window anyway. just wish you didn't have to alt tab just to move the mouse out of the window. fallout 3 had this problem on my computer where every time it would minimize or i would alt tab in fullscreen, [don't remember what triggered it haven't played in fullscreen in forever. but the window would get smashed were it would be a line going across the bottom of my moniter. i only play in windowed mode now. but my firewall has a annoying issue where it randomly minimizes any fullscreen game i play so i play almost everything windowed. execpt darksiders because i can't, firewall would crash that thing left and right.
oblivion when i first ran it it wasn't even running it's own master file at default, it kept crashing right it the start, i couldn't figure out why. good thing i thought to check the data files. learned that from modding fallout 3. after that it was really stable after playing fallout 3 [good game but unstable as heck the more you mod the worse it gets] and new vegas [no mods and was looking as bad as dragon age]. i bet i'll find alot of the stability issues in skyrim, i don't mind glitches as long as the game doesn't lock up or crash because of them. heck i walked through a tree in oblivion at one point and no crash.

well you might be in luck. List your PC specs. Ive known people with rigs made for oblivion that havent been upgraded in forever be able to run skyrim.
And as for an earlier post of yours (since these forums STILL don't have multi-quote :/ )
Yes you can dual wield, and I am not sure if you can adjust the HUD fade-out.

i went out yesterday with my dad to town, cats were running out of food. i got the game at gamestop. for the ps3 i'm tired of dealing with compatibility issues on the pc.
and it is awesome, actually worth the hour drive to the town for once. i have a redguard, i flip from warrior to paladin. dual wielding would be better if you could block [my only nit pick] heck this game has something i never expected to see in a game ever, two-tone eyes i named my dude after my character with two tone eyes. because the two colors were his eye colors, yellow and green. i finally was able to make a narcore character without jumping through nine hoops to do it.
the graphics are beautiful, i hate to say it but oblivion looks primitive compared to skyrim. oblivion is still good but holy cow is there a huge difference between the two, even in gameplay.
i'm also not used to games that are hyped to death that aren't a huge dissapointment when they come out.
that first dragon is wicked, died 20+ times trying to beat him. i haven't gotten far because there is a frost troll on the way to the gray beard place, can't even sneak past him he kills me in like 2 hits, i'm on adept difficulty, is that like normal on most games? i need to get a house and a horse because the world map is huge, and i thought the wasteland was huge, i need to find more mines for metals because i'm a blacksmith. this game could win game of the year easily.

I love this game. I'll have to complete the main quest and all of the side quests in order to give it a full assessment, but it's turning out to be one of the greatest games I've ever played. Yesterday I watched a giant slay one of the dragons. The dragon was roasting me until it flew off and randomly attacked a mammoth which provoked the giant. The giant did all of the work for me. I actually felt kind of bad when I looted the dragon, so I left some dragon scales in his treasure chest. It was one of those moments that tricks me into thinking Skyrim has an independent life of its own.
I somehow managed to sneak past that frost troll, he was kicking my butt badly at first too. But honestly once you get powerful enough (probably around level 13 or 14) its not a big deal to beat frost trolls - I know because after you get to the Greybeard's city the first time you'll have to go back later, and I hadn't discovered the fast travel feature when I went back.
And honestly I think the house has value because you can store stuff there, but a horse is a waste. Once you've been somewhere you can use the map to fast travel there (just click the icon on the map and it will ask if you want to fast travel). Even if you haven't been somewhere you can fast travel to somewhere else nearby that you have been to and then just walk the rest of the way. But also now I am trying to go back and walk the map because there were huge swaths I haven't been to and so now I am discovering a lot of minor towns and landmarks.

Thats a big part of what makes this game worth it, you will always find something new, including random NPCs. It just adds a lot. Still miss the good old days of daggerfall, but I don't care for the controls much

i just like having a mount if nothing else. but you can't get ingredients for potions on horseback is the only thing i don't like. if i could gather potions stuff on horseback it wouldn't be so bad. and being a werewolf sucks no rest bonus, can't get into the inventory, can't loot. the extra strength and speed to me are not worth it. i love to loot and i am nothing if i can't access my inventory. also it annoys me when every npc remarks about you smelling like wet dog, or "can you tell your mutt to stop howling at night" i'm thinking [mind your own business damn it.] i deleted my first character didn't know how to cure werewolf curse.

Brother: "You playing Skyrim, then?"
Me: "Yup."
Mother: "Does it involve killing things?"
Me: "Uh, yeah, sorta, but it's not really like that..."
So I've restarted again, and this time I'm not killing anyone. Or any creature, daedra, undead, automaton or anything else. Though a very large number of the aforementioned beings have perished recently in mysterious accidents, possibly because littering your home with cunning hair-trigger death-traps and then carelessly running around chasing a sneaky Redguard is a really bad idea. And then there's the disturbing rise in the number of bandit-turns-psycho-killer-while-enjoying-mead-with-his-mates incidents puzzling the Watch; "well, Grognir was just sitting there all quiet-like, then there was this red flash and suddenly he tried to stab me in the eyeball, so I had to shiv him up first... and hey, where's my purse gone?" But I've not directly killed anyone yet. Honest.
Yeah, I'm having fun. Though I do find myself shouting "get out of here, Stalker!" at some of the NPCs...

The cure is at the end of the Companions Quest Line.

oh i didn't know that, well i killed alot of guards at city anyway had a super high bounty because of it, because of that i couldn't complete a quest. and well i'm learning as i go still.
i might make him again but i am working on a mage\archer\stealth character thing.
i had a feeling you could cure it like vampirism in oblivion.

The game really has some nice stop to smell the roses bits. My first character was a mage, and I was kind of speeding around, like doing little but do the mission, take the loot back to base, and equiping myself with the best magic enhancing equipment as well as Brotherhood boots and gloves, and a nice ebony axe. Well it looked like I took my time with stealth being one of my top 4 attributes, but I created a Khajiit archer, and found another side with creating and increasing weapons and armour, and being more reliant on not being seen and in effect having to use the stamina bar for zooming and getting distance from enemy. Or useing the slow time shout to react quickly.
I was taking my time with the Khajiit, and I hapened to look at the night sky one time when I was in Solitude, and I was just blown away, the sky changes all the time so it can change all the time, but this time was clear of clouds, and you could see the stars. The moon was bright, but you could see the bright what I would call northen lights that keptflickering and changing slight colours, and crossed over the moon which gave it a slight eclipse look. Probably hard to imagine it, but it was probably one of the most beautiful things that I have seen in a video game, if I could only find a picture online so I could put it as my laptop's wallpaper.

i'm glad it's running good for you, on top of the lag on the ps3 my extra bedroom wall in my whiterun house dissapeared, the door is still there but i can see everything behind it, also the bed is gone as well even walked in the room where the bed sat and usually if it's a graphic issue you will still hit the 3d render model, but the whole bed and wall are gone, i might try jumping over the stairs and see if i can get in the room without using the door.
my poor housecarl guard person doesn't have anywhere to sleep now, i feel bad.
i am holding out hope for a patch or fix of some kind, i need to get my save file down to 5 mbs easier said then done. i read that sleeping long enough for the game to reset itself helps so that's what i'm doing. i can't leave random crap on the ground i have to close doors after i leave the room, i keep forgeting this. the less items this game has to record the better, which means as much as glass getting knocked off a shelf to a whole dungeon with dead bodies after a recent dungeon dive, dragon fights, and this stuff can be right outside the city you are in or across the freaking map and it flips out.
the map could be changed to something more standard i wonder if that would help.
