i like the old style games he had.

I loved Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the Sega Mega Drive. they were cool.

I saw an advertisment for a new Sonic game recently it uses the Wii remote with sonic having a sword, to me this looks like Sonic is now copying Legend of Zelda, before it was turning into a wolf, now a sword, what next, a bow and maybe a horse.

Shadow as a character ruined Sonic IMO.

Every character introduced after Knuckles ruined Sonic.

Sonic made an appearance in smash bros, also like zelda. And in SA2 the mystic melody thing looked alot like an ocarina.

I'm a long time Sonic fan and Unleashed is probably my favourite game in the series. Most people won't agree with that but either way it was a big step in the right direction.

I try to pretend that Black Knight doesn't exist.

Amy was a good character, so is Vector. I don't like Tails, he annoys me.

I agree with what Andromedia said. At first Sega started off with 2 main characters, Sonic and Dr. Eggman (Robotnik?) I was okay with the addition to the group, as Knuckles and Tails were added. But if you look at it now, Sonic has over 100 different characters. There's something that's ruining it and it's because it seems like Sonic, Tails and Knuckles aren't the main characters anymore. The games used to be about speed and getting to the end of the level as fast as you could, getting pts along with that, and in later games such as SA2, getting ranks and emblems for it. I actually heard Shadow The Hedgehog was once reffered to as Sonic Adventure 3, but I now hear it was Sonic Unleased as a predecessor to the other two Sonic Adventure games. Sonic Unleashed was decent, but very unlike the other two which sometimes makes me feel as if Sonic has lost its touch.

A lot of the new characters they add, you never really get to see them again in future games. It should of stayed as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Dr Eggman. Possibly a few other antagonists, but that's it. The Sonic games passing SA2 weren't as good as those before that. Sonic Rush was good, but it was too short and a little easy for me, I beat it in 3 days. Sonic and the secret rings looked overall very rushed, the controlls weren't good at all. The storyline was very messed up, because you had to complete the missions in a certain order to progress the story fully without getting confused. And it just seemed bland to me. I really hope Sega go back to their old ways. I miss them a lot.

Man, I hated the werehog stages. They were okay at the start, but it just started getting laggy up to the point that I stoped
playing the darn game. I also feel that the cutscenes were crappy, being that it took a diffrent outlook on everything.
It was like some cheesy cartoon show. The game was more terribal than shadow the hedgehog! The only good parts were
when you played the racing tracks with sonic, the camera angles were okay, and so was the design. But the whole werehog concept just ruined the game.

Y'know where Sonic went wrong? Adding too many characters. Not just that, but REDUNDANT characters. When it first started out, it was just Sonic and Robotnik. Hero and villain. Simple right? Then came Tails.

SONIC 2
- "Who's he?"
- "He's a sidekick. He can fly."
- "Oh, well, I guess that's okay."

SONIC CD
- "Wait, who's this Metal Sonic?"
- "He's the villain."
- "...But Robotnik is the villain."
- "Well uh, he's the sidekick villain."
- "Okaaay..."

SONIC 3
- "Okay, now who's this??"
- "This is Knuckles! He's the villain."
- "But we already have Robotnik!"
- "No it's okay he becomes a hero."
- "Isn't Sonic the hero?"
- "Well this is another hero...who can fly!"
- "I thought Tails was the one who could fly."
- "He is."
- "...So you have two guys who can fly and one who can't. Doesn't that seem unbalanced?"
- "But Knuckles flies and kicks ass!"

KNUCKLES CHAOTIX
- "Wait, we're giving Knuckles his own game?"
- "Yea it'll really draw people to the 32X!"
- "Wait...who the hell are all these other people in the game??"
- "Those're the Chaotix."
- "Chaotic is right..."
- "Don't worry they just appear in this game."
- "Oh thank god..."

SONIC ADVENTURE 2
- "Oh wait now who's THIS guy??"
- "That's Shadow. He's the villain."
- "But Robotnik is the villain!!"
- "Well he's an anti-hero."
- "I thought that was Knuckles."
- "Well he's...the evil version of Sonic?"
- "That's Metal Sonic!"
- "No trust me, he's bad-ass and has lots of attitude."
- "What, Sonic doesn't?"
- "We'll give him a gun!"
- "Guns?? This is a kids game! Are you crazy??"
- "But I haven't told you about Rouge!"
- "...Who's Rouge?"
- "She's a sexy female bat."
- "...I don't even know where to start with that."

I wouldn't really call metal sonic a character, and certainly he didn't terribly clutter the game.

my point is the evil version of Sonic had been done by the time Shadow came along.

Sonic Adventure was definitely my favorite game.
I enjoyed SADX so much that I'm making a huge mod for it called GREEN.

for me sonic died when they made it 3d, the gameplay wasn't the same anymore, and as such it was a different game altogether imo
