Not always just for necessary items - sometimes they can give real advantages to a dedicated player, such as getting the Lionheart without leaving Balamb island at the start of FF8.

Card games still bore the heck out of me. I'd skip them completely in such games if I could but somehow they force you to at least play a little bit of them. :x

I want to add breeding games to that also. I did not care for chocobo breeding in FF7. I think they had that in FF9 as well, which I ignored completely.

I'm with you on the no sidequests. Let me delve into the story and the numbers! I liked FFXII's Hunts though.

I didn't mind the card minigames in the couple of Final Fantasy games that had them. And I loved SNK vs. Capcom Card Fighter's Clash on the Neo Geo Pocket (if you can count that as a card game) and I like the Metal Gear Acid games and Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, which are REAAAALLY pushing it to call them card games (although they do technically use "cards").

Two games that i don't like are Infected for PSP and Pacman 3 for PSP. Infected because i got bored of it, u shoot bullets at zombies and then shoot vials of blood at them.

Pacman was a pain because when u walk along a wall the camera is always pointed the opposite way to where the pacman is going.

The Game Boy Track and Field game. I always hated rapid button smashing games. Can you say carpal tunnel? Also the old wrestling arcade games that required button smashing to win a grapple. Most new wrestling games have a better system.

Universal Studios Theme Park Adventure

For gamecube. Horrible, horrible game. The camera stays in one place and you can accidentally go behind something and forget where you went.

Captain Planet and The Planeteers for NES. I've never beaten the first stage. I cheated to go to other stages once, and the game doesn't seem to get any better.

Strangely enough, I often feel very compelled to play it. I know someday I'll figure out how to land my Planeteer jet or whatever it is. Then I'll beat the first stage and be in for a whole new world of suck.

Just Cause= FAIL FAIL FAIL!

Yeah that was one crappy pc game. Was bundled with my graphic card. It uses the Far Cry engine, which i think is really awesome, but somehow this game manages to suck your cpu dry (I run Far Cry on full setting, but can only run Just Cause on medium and still it lags). Not to mention the horrible graphic bugs, lame game play and no real story whatsoever. A really bad GTA clone with a few original ideas.
