The first (and best) video game I've ever played, too.

SPACEWAR on a huge mainframe computer, mid 70's.

I have also played a game on a PRINTER at the same university. It printed a page with you, some walls and robots. You had 10 seconds to move your guy before the printer spewed another page out, showing the robots moving in on you. Hilarious.

I can't believe it's still available, and it's still as addicting as it used to be :P

I don't 100% have a first game since my father bought me multiple computer games packaged together when I was 7. The "first" games are Maniac Mansion, Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders, Loom (I could never play this game as the sound in this game gave me headaches and it was unplayable without sound), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, The Secret of Monkey Island and lastly, Sam and Max (which never did quite work as I thought the installation diskette was defective). The first of these I played was Maniac Mansion.

Atari 2600 in '84. Got it from a friend that didn't use it anymore. I also got a $%&!-load of games in a big box that came along with it that included Pitfall, Astro-blast, Planet Patrol, Centipede, and Pole Position, among others.

Then I forgot about video games for about 3 years. Then came the Nintendo in '88 with Super Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt. For me that one really got things going for good in the way of video games.

The oldest game I remember playing was a SNES game that I played all the time. It was an arcade game type thing in which your a flying plane or something of that sort and you shoot stuff, there were bosses and powerups if I remember too. The first level ended with you fighting two huge tank things that ran on tracks if I remember correctly.

I really enjoyed that game, but then my mom had to step on it when I was 4 or 5 thus breaking it. I was sad for a long time after. I'm getting sad just thinking about it.
