Who likes the name Nintendo Wii?

Well, Nintendo just renamed the name of their upcoming console from "Revolution" to "Wii" (pronounced Wee). Read about it here: http://games.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=06/04/27/1625208. I think the name sucks 'cause it sounds like a synonym for urine or penis and thus a target for teasing by owners of other consoles (i.e. I played with my Wii all night). Besides, most people won't be even able to pronounce it ("Nintendo ... Why?"). I'm still planning to buy it though.
What do you guys think?

It's a really stupid name. Sounds like 'wee'.

I personally liked the name Revolution. It was unique, and had a nice ring to it. Wii is alright, yes, it is a bit corny sounding, and enables a person to make plenty of phallic and bathroom jokes, but since when have console names been good. We have things like the "Xbox", or the playstation, which sounds like a 5 year old's playset. The wii will still interest me, regardless of its' name. As they say, never judge a book by its' cover.

Ok, let's hope for a name change. What parent is going to say yes when their kids ask for "Wii," knowing how it's pronounced?

I was mad enough when a new system was announced less than 2 months after I had gotten a game cube....

God bless the marketing department that came up with that name. They were obviously working with the intention of making millions of gamers laugh their asses off.

Well it seems to me that they should have stuck with revolution considering their target audience isnt likely to understand Wii (being so young.)

They spent so much time trying to give players a more emersive experience, that they forgot about giving the darn thing a decent name.

It should use DVDs instead of disks.

I think it has a cool name; they probably decided on it because their marketing system of trying to get more people to play their video games means that there probably won't be only one person playing so they named it the Nintendo Wii.

Despite the fact that I pick Sony over Nintendo, I have this to say:

Wiiva la Revolution.
