Homeworld, Starcraft, Emperor: Battle for Dune. Btw do we count Real Time Tactics as "strategy"? Total war series would fall under that. In this case, I also liked Nexus: The Jupiter Incident :P

Battlezone and Battlezone II: Combat Commander :)

As well as being RTS games, they're also FPS's. In the game, you're planet-hopping trying to find new sources of biometal which is what makes up the hover tanks you pilot and command. Though you can also build much more than tanks using what's called the recycler. With each mission, you typically start out with just a recycler and sometimes a few extra units. The next step is to find a nice open area to deploy your recycler and settle your base. Everything you can build in BZ and BZ2, finds it's way back to the recycler. For example if you wanted let's say a gun tower, you would have to first build some scavengers to find and supply you with scrap metal (which gets refined into biometal at the recycler), then the recycler would build a constructor, then the constructor builds a power generator, and then he builds a relay bunker, and finally builds the gun tower next to the relay bunker :)

Most the time the mission is just to destoy the enemy's recycler before they destroy yours, but you'll occasionally get seperate missions like being a foot soldier trying to plant an explosion somewhere, or rescuing a downed pilot, or even just escourting a recyler to a Dust Off site using limited resouces.

Both BZ and BZ2 have recieved incredibly positive reviews, but because they were both started out with very low funding, they didn't get decent marketing and therefore didn't sell too well :(

Too bad Activision doesn't want to make a third one now that they're raking in money from Call of Duty and Guitar Hero :(

Anyways, sorry for the text wall

I've just been up all night on the internet because I think I'm allergic to my pillows :?

Age of Mythology for sure :thumleft: , Age of empires series (1 and 2), Rise of Nations. Lately played Company of heroes. Good graphics though a bit tough to play.

Age Of Empires 3. It has much more depth to it than other RTS games: more varied units, more uniqueness between units of about a dozen different nations, more buildings, trading with native americans, concept of home city and supply shipments.

It was put together quite cleverly.

I play Warcraft 3 more though because (as of patch 1.21) it doesn't require a stupid CD check. I'm more likely to play a game if I don't have to get up and hunt for the CD/DVD.

Lemme see here, Ive been a fan of the entire C&C series (and its offshoots), Emperor: Battle for Dune, Sacrifice, Warcraft (the whole series), Total Annihilation, Supreme Commander, and Dawn of War (the Warhammer 40k RTS). Rise of Nations: Rise of Legens was also pretty cool, Starcraft (-CANNOT- wait for SC 2), and Empire Earth. There are likely more, i just cant remember their names at the moment ><.

Starcraft, that's about the only RTS I've ever been able to get into.

Can hardly win a match to save my life though.

Personally?

The Total War series... Many nights I've lost doing what Caesar did not or teaching those Austrians to stay away from my Prussian Crown and united Germany, pity that the naval combat fell on its head. Hope they get it fixed for Napoleon.

Personally my all time favorite is Age of Mythology, it was an experience for me, the storyline was epic, and multiplayer was really an experience, especially when you have 2 teams of 3 players each and you can connect to your teammates (and the game doesn't disconnect :/)
My first RTS would be Red alert 2, I wasn't allowed to buy it but I could play it at a neighbour :P
I played SupCom for quite a while but it was too complicated for me to fully enjoy, but although I generally got completely beat up online, I still enjoyed it.
I am waiting for SupCom 2 :D

Age of Empires 2 so far. I haven't played the full circle of everyone's favorites though. So far Age of Empires 2 is most memorable to me.

AOE 2 is a great series, by the way. Back when that game came out, my friends and I were just stunned with it, and some of them played it for hours, having a competitive clan.

I never really enjoyed the fact that some units just DECIMATE others, as some counters were laughably strict, but I never played competitively either.

Total Annihilation was the best. Can't believe people liked StarCraft (which is a good game, don't get me wrong) more than TA.
