Does anyone play DDR? I think this should be made an olympic sport. It is one of the most strenuous exercises you can do. I used to be overwieght until I played DDR and now i'm really skinny. I think DDR could end the obesity epidemic if everyone played it. I can currently pass Every song on DDR extreme excpet PSMO

I play DDR.
DDR Extreme 2 and DDR Super Nova.
I can pass most on DDR Extreme 2 on expert and I think one on challenge except for a few I have a bit of difficulty with and DDR Supernova most on standard some on expert.

My 11 year old plays DDR daily, and he is now skinny (not too skinny, just right), whereas before he was just a little tiny bit round. He has been obsessed by DDR, in that he talks about it, plays it for hours (if allowed) until the sweat is pooring off of him, and he memorizes every song, every artist who does each song, etc. He is extremely good at it.

DDR has been an obsession, but he's great now about playing DDR for an hour, then jumping to other activities. We also have taught him that it's great to talk about DDR, but only with someone else who is equally interested. Unfortunately, there aren't that many who are as interested as he is!

DDR, if used correctly, can be a great social tool, if other friends are interested in it as well. The only trouble is, when your child plays it almost continuously, the other friend may get frustrated because they just can't compete. I understand this too -- I am overweight, and I play DDR with my son so that he's actually playing "with" someone, and so that I can get some INCREDIBLY good exercise. I'm lousy at it, but if I did it daily like my son does, I'm sure that I would improve. I think it's a great game!

I got obsessive to the point that it was unhealthy and damaging.
Sparing the details but yes, just watch out.
There was a lot more to why I did it though.

Its controlled and I do it more here and there for fun rather than an obsessive outlet now.

A friend of mine and I used to play it for hours a day a couple years back. He'd come over and we'd play, we'd go to the mall with the sole purpose of playing DDR, we'd go to the local youth center and play. It was great.

We don't go to the youth center anymore and the arcade we went to is gone. We can't play at my house anymore because my dog barks and bites our feet. We're both ridiculously out of practice. The only time we usually get to play anymore are on the rare ocassions that we go to this other guy's house. His sister loves it so they have those really nice hundred dollar mats. The only problem is that they only have DDR MAX 2 which isn't the best mix. We make do though.

Hopefully when I start school and get out of the house I'll be able to start up again.

I play DDR sometimes, but I frequently play Pump It Up, I'm better with PIU than with DDR.

This kind of dancing simulators are the only way I will dance :D

Seriously? I can't deal with PIU. That middle button gets me everytime.
