This is a message that I posted on the Sims 3 forum under Ideas & Feedback yesterday. As you can tell I didn't get any feedback from anyone. Let alone only 22 people read it. :( :?

I feel that I can be more open and honest on this website.

The reason I am posting it here is to find out 1. Is the message really boring 2. Are my ideas any good.

PLEASE let me know your opinions. :D I really would very grateful to get some kind of feedback. :D

I have edited the subject line twice hoping that more people would read my message and reply to it. Have I not received one because the suggestions are not very good? If so I'd like to know, please!

While Bumper Morgan was working in her garden I realized that there was just too much work to be done for one person. It would have been great if she could have help with it, without having another Sim live with her,

Another goal she now has is to be worth $1,000,000. Right now between cash, her house, etc. she is about $250,000 short. She owns a few businesses. I have installed a couple of houses that were downloaded that include gardens that include money trees. I thought it was a shame that she wasn't able to invest her money in real estate. Like buy houses/stores and sell them for a profit.

I don't know if what I am suggesting should be an expansion pack like Open for Business, or additional jobs. In any case the jobs I thought of were gardener, real estate agent, catering, handy man/woman. Also carts for hot dogs and hamburgers, and all the food available from World Adventures. With the latter the Sim wouldn't be able to sell the item until they read the recipe book instead of buying the cart with all those items included.

I'd also like to see the opportunity for Sims with a level 10 in the music field to get phone calls asking if they would like to play their guitar at a party. Maybe even have more instruments in the game so that the guitar player could hire other Sims to create a band.

And what about a travel agent, tour director.

All the changes that were made from the last game to the Sims 3 are, in my opinion, are so basic that they allow someone with an imagination to come up with ideas that seem to be just a natural progression of the game.

What do you think? Am I running amok with this? Maybe I'm just spending too much playing the game. I don't know. I'd be very happy to get input from other players.

Thank you very much. irene

P. S. I know it's too late to add this to the thread about what I miss from the old games. But I would like to include the caterer and the bartender for parties.

I agree with you, especially the gardener. I guess they must get alot of requests, I really want the ability for sims to go to university and have pets like in sims 2, but I guess some things will come with time, and later expansion packs.

However I don't have World Adventures, it didn't seem that great to me. If it's worth getting then let me know. £30 is alot for something that's no good.

They DO get asked to play their guitar at a party; I've had it happen.

Well if there was a gardener job how would it work? You can already do gardening full time, make money from it and get random jobs like with all skills. If you had it as a job it would mean going to a building and watching fast forward instead of actually gardening.

As for help in gardening perhaps there could be tools you can buy that speed things up while carried or owned by the household. Shovel, trowel, clippers, shears, watering can or garden hose and such. Though implementing an upgrade path would be difficult, making this a "basic" addition, even if it is also useful.

With the food cart- how will it work? Do you just walk around town for a few hours hoping people will stop and buy something? How would charging prices for food work, user set or game controlled? How would events be handled? There are random events that happen around town where a food vendor would possibly be welcome, sport events for example. How would the food vendor interact with them? Would it? Should it?

The catering profession idea can work but you need to give more info, perhaps you could start as a food cart person, work up to function catering, eventually preparing banquets for diplomats or something. Random events though would be difficult, there is already cooking ones (supply food for my party, etc). Peraps being called to be a chef for some of the town events?

The ideas you give are hard to comment on. You've defined some problems that you feel need work but offer few suggestions on how to improve them. The suggestions you do give have no information on how they would work, why they would be fun and ideas of events that could occur for them.

I don't mean to be harsh but well I have an interest in game design theory and those are issues I have noticed with the post you gave. Not saying the ideas are good or bad, they just they need to be fleshed out more.

PS Feel free to steal any ideas I gave

Thanks for your replies.

For kissmyarrtichoke: However I don't have World Adventures, it didn't seem that great to me. If it's worth getting then let me know. £30 is alot for something that's no good. I really like World Adventures-it's more than just point and click. You need to solve mini-puzzles to accomplish the goals.

Some of the adventures require a bit of time because you need to build up skill points to finish. One example is while in China your Sim needs to deliver a certain type of fish that requires a level 9. Bumper Morgan was only up to level 4. Another one I remember was mediating as part of martial arts. She got the adventure after getting up to 2, but mediating requires a 5. Sometimes the adventure could end before you can complete them.

For SirLogiC: By no means did I consider your comments to be harsh. I wanted someone to give me their opinions. In fact you could have, and I kind of think you should of, been a bit harsher.

I have the same problem with verbal communication especially if the subject is feelings/emotions. I don't have a clue as to how to express myself with words. Would you know if this is part of Pramatic Language Disorder? That was part of my diagnosis.

About gardening-The jobs would come in as an opportunity. Another way could be walking around the town and asking the home owner if they need a gardner. If it was done verbally the Sim would have to wait a week before returning to the sam home. The Sim wouldn't have to walk around with any tools since they don't use any other than a sprinkler. Now that is a problem since it's not possible to use the buy mode for another lot. To use this skill away from home the Sim would have to reach a level 8. So that would mean they wouldn't be able to work on gardens with omni-plants, etc. until they get up a level 10. Now I realize that to do the job well they would also need to have a high level in the fishing skill to have better fertilizers.

Actually for the catering job the only thing that I was able to plan out was the the food cart. It would be bought from the buy menu or from City Hall. I prefer the latter since in the real world you need a license to use one. This idea was based on the grill a thon opportunities, the autograph signing for Sims in the music career, and playing the guitar for tips. The gardening idea was based on the opportunities Sims get from the handiness skill. I haven't decided if the food, hamburgers or hot dogs, would be put on tables or handed out to each sim. If they are put on tables they would get the $$ once it is on the table, and if it handed out the $$ would be put on the cart the same way it's done with the tips for playing the guitar.

On second thought the catering aspect would be just like the opportunity of making a dish and delivering to a Sim. I guess I need more detail for that one.

Frequently in the past I have been told that when I explain ideas I have to people that I am running amok and giving them too much information. Also I never remember that people do not know what I am thinking, or have the same train of thought that I have.

I am thrilled that you spent the time and effort to evaluate my message. :D If you ever should read another post from me and feel as though it wasn't explained properly could you, please, help me out and do it again. I'm sure it would help me a great deal.

Thanks everybody. irene
