I would say the Wii for 10 reasons.

1) The Wii has full backwards compatibility. 360 doesn't have full compatibility and some versions of the PS3 don't have it at all.

2) Defects are very rare in Wiis. 360 has red ring of death, disk scratching, and several other defects. Early PS3 consoles crashed.

3) While almost all exclusives from 360 and PS3 are shooters, the Wii has exclusives from a myriad of different genres.

4) The Wii is an exercise machine on a rainy day: Wii Fit, DDR, EA Active, Wii Sports 1&2, and several other games.

5) The Wii appeals to many demographics (other than the male 15-30 demographic which PS3 and 360 market to): women, the elderly, very young children, and adults who haven't played video games since the Clinton Administration.

6) The Wii is less expensive. Consoles cost only $200 each and games cost only $50 each (which is less than $60 dollars which the other two charge for each game).

7) The Wii's control scheme is innovative, it has a whole new layer of fun, and it has inspired developers to make brand new kinds of games.

8) It does not matter that Wii doesn't play DVDs in HD/Bluray, isn't able to store 60 gigabytes of MP3's or movies, or etc. All of those functions can be done by a computer (and chances are if you live in a developed country and own a wii, you probably have a computer also).

9.) 360 and PS3 are too similar to each other, which means a person who is going to buy two consoles is usually going to pick the Wii with one of the two, rather than the other, as they get the best of both worlds.

10) The Wii is only a beginning. It still has much potential it has not met yet.

(EDIT: I realize that I accidentally forgot to save the PS3 option on the poll)

I'd have to say the wii, for the following reasons:

1)Its cheap compared to other consoles, without compromises(For example, the cheap 360 having no hard drive)

2)Low failure rate, good warranty(Mine died a week after it expired, but they still took care of it for free)

3)While there's a ton of shovel-ware, what's good is usually exceptionally good.

4)It focuses on game play over graphics.

5)Backwards compatibility with ALL previous systems, thanks to virtual console.(Sucks that you have to rebuy some things, though).

6)Easiest to modify, with what could possibly be one of the largest console homebrew scenes in existence(If not the largest, then at least giving the psp scene a run for its money).

You didn't include the PS3. Here's my choices from greatest to least:
1. Xbox 360
2. PS3
3. Nintendo Wii

I don't like the quality or narrow range of games on the Wii, or its controls. I would love the Xbox 360 but I already own a gaming computer. Since most games on Xbox 360 that are any good also come out on PC with few exceptions, there's little need for me to get one. So I bought a PS3.

I don't have that many games for the PS3, but the few games I do have for it have been excellent and exclusive to the platform. For me, I made the right choice, but different people will like different things. Valkyria Chronicles and Demon's Souls alone made the purchase worthwhile for me.

The 360 all the way. Even though I grew up with the original Nintendo generation, I've switched my loyalties (as much as this sounds weird to me) to Microsoft. Nintendo just needs to get updated with graphics, and less on gimmicks.

While I like all of them, I gotta say the 360 is my favourite mostly due to the online service.

I own a XBOX 360 and love it so far, a Wii would be good to have along side it, but there aint many games outside the 1st party range that are good.

I prefer the 360, but I won't say it is necesarily better then the others, each is different and different people get what they want from each. Each to their own

The idea that the Wii represents has a lot of potential in the gaming world. A lot of the time though those ideas are used as gimmicks. That doesn't mean that it is one.

Graphics are generally a major attraction to games, to me that is more of a gimmick than what Nintendo did with the Wii. I'm not saying that either is better, or that the Wii is supreme. I'm very disappointed with the Wii, but I am also disappointed with gaming in general.

I think though that in order of popularity for the "gamer" scene it would probably be 360, PS3, and then the Wii. Throwing console sales aside, most people I know or have come across are pretty much gamers in that order.

The Wii just doesn't have enough variety of good games and the good games it does have are hampered by its ridiculous controls.

Well 360 has a good back library, but I don't really play long, in-depth games anymore.

I got a Wii for the Nintendo-brand games like Mario and Zelda. There could be a little more, but last December I got Mario Bros and this summer we're getting Galaxy 2 and a new Metroid.

I'm considering PS3 for the Bluray player, but probably wouldn't buy it for the games.
