Has anybody else here gotten the ION drum kit for Rock Band 2? I've had mine for about a month and a half and I absolutely love it.
Has anybody made the transition from the game to actually being able to play the drums? I don't mean right away, obviously, but does this kit help you to learn the drums at all?

I have a modified one that I don't really use much anymore. It's great for playing Rock Band but it sucks as an electronic drum set. Like any electronic drum set, it can help you to learn certain things about drums like limb independence, but it's not great for other things like technique or dynamics. If you want to learn real drumming, get real drums, but the Ions won't hurt much.

Well, I got them brand new for $92, so I figured it would be worth it to just see if it is something I really want to get into. I would have hated to spend hundreds on a real set just to have it gather dust. But so far I am obsessed with it.

I have this kit, I love it... It doesn't actually teach you technic, but it will teach you timing/tempo, and the order of how drumming works, it's a simulator of sorts. It's certianly a starting point for those who are not musically inclined.

I'm love music & Rock Band, it calms & excities me.

I've only played on normal Rock Band drums, but I've gotten to play real drums a few times and didn't have any problems.
