I'm interested if it's 3d like Stadium/coliseum where they show attacks in detail. But other than that, is there anything new other than new pokemon and a new region from what info there is?

3d is overrated, loved the older ones, but the newer ones are kinda meh to me. I think mostly because of the sheer amount of pokemon now. (assuming White/Black release a brand new set, it would be over 600 I believe.

I don't see how the game being rendered in three dimensions is anything new, I thought all the DS Pokemon games were like that? (I haven't actually played them myself, but watched my friends play them a bit)

PS. It's probably going to have stereoscopic support as well, on the 3DS.

Or at least the first "rumors" of the 3DS came from Pokemon developers who were praising the dev unit prototype.

I like the old ones(Red/Blue/Green/Yellow/Gold/Silver/Crystal). Why couldn't they just had left it with that. The river of ideas will soon run dry for Pokemon. They've been overdoing it and it kinda needs to end, like franchises like Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero and Madden, and any other game series that just overdoes it and shells out a new clone product to ease you of your money.

Imagine when they reach their creative limit and start releasing geometric shapes with faces as the new starters

You're absolutely correct! I made this estimation while having a gas with a friend of mine who brought it up... I'm having enough trouble getting all 493 Pokemon in my SoulSilver version! How do you think I'll manage with 600 of these guys to catch? Heh, "Gotta Catch 'Em All" has never been more of a suicide rap....

The current ones are rendered in a 3D engine (I think), but remain in a 2D perspective.

Actually after thinking about it, all the leaked screenshots/footage look like regular DS graphics, and the 3DS is supposed to be more advanced.

Hmm...
