I can't stand people who are against gaming. When I tell people that I game they automatically assume I'm addicted and preach to me. I'm be gaming since I was 5 when my dad bought me a gameboy and gave me most of his old schoo gameboy games plus pokemon blue. I only play one hour and 30 minutes a day. Anyone else feel like this? Sorry I just had to let my anger out.

And they probably watch at least 8 hours of TV per day, too. But you're not like them, so therefore you have the problem.

Gaming is a terrible addiction that took 4 years of my life that I could never get back. But it can be a good thing to do if you control the amount of time you play it. It seems like you have it completely under control. I wouldn't tell ppl straight up that you game. If I were you, I would tell them that it's something you do once and a while, otherwise they will just assume that your an addict and have no life. They probably do this because they know ppl that game and are addicts.

I've never come across an anti-gamer. Most people who I know aren't gamers, but I don't know anyone who would actively try to dissuade someone from gaming.

If someone gets all preachy to me about it, I just tell them that they are just as f****d up, having to have human contact 24/7, or Ill point out that they are a bunch of hypocrites for doing s**t they enjoy, like watching reality TV all the4 time OR Working on their car constantly just for the sake of it.

I can only agree. As a WoW-player, i've heard aloooot of preachings. Like if their talking is going to stop me in having fun?
In the old days, I used to rage back at people who preached, but I have stopped that since now a days, its usually just trolls that wants fun, that starts preaching debates about WoW. And for those who do preach people to stop playing WoW, and treat it like its the worst game of them all, I just feel sorry for them. They must be spending just as much time preaching, as I do playing :)

Then there are those of us who just genuinely dont like WoW. Granted however I wont tell people to stop playing it, id rather let them enjoy themselves in that sense.

You should take the hint and stop talking about games. I was like this when I was in HS long long time ago back when video games had a worse social stigma than today, and was known throughout the 300+ students in my class as the video-game guy. It was the foundation where all the harassment and jokes came from.

What "hint"? It happens like this:
Person: What are your hobbies?
Sam: I play video games
Person: Well, do ever get any social activity
Sam: Yea
Person: There's a diffrence between a face to face social connection and just playing on XBOX live with people
Me: yeah whatever....:switches subject:

I don't even game that much...I'm mostly into fashion and makeup. I talk about mascara and handbags more than games.

I agree, people can be just as obsessive about other things as we can about games.

On an unrelated note... STOP JACKING MY AVATAR! I had it first!

(Well... if you really want it fine, but it's kind of confusing.)

This is annoying but forgivable, as long as they're not actively trying to stop you playing games altogether. I just get the odd passing titter and "you've been playing on that far too long, you're addicted!" business. Simply not true but I know they're just jealous because they don't understand videogames

As for misers who simply hate games and want to ban them, such people are detestable.

I had a co-worker who said that videogames would rot your brain.

Of course, she admits to liking Twilight and is into those trashy romance books that you find at grocery stores. Take that as you will.

The hint is that people are judging you for playing games. Don't bring it up unless someone else does.

Also I notice you only game for an hour or two? That's not even close to being a gamer. That's madden/halo/GTA casual territory your in. When you pull 8+ hours of MMO'ing and being in street fighter Team Fortress 2 tournaments like me baby then you can talk.

I don't like Madden or GTA. I mainly like shooters(example, call of duty, halo, bioshock) and fighters(street fighter, mortal kombat, tekken). But mainly fighters. I also love puzzle games and games involving cute animals or creatures(pokemon, nintendogs neopets). I don't have time to be a "gamer". And please to call me "Baby"
Also I don't want to argue with you, and I don't think you want to argue with me. Okay? :D
