In a manner of speaking, yes, I'd say that they are.
RE4 was a clone of Call of Duty that tried to give you a great survival horror experience, and it kind of did. Although I just think that RE4 is generally a dumb game. The story is absurd, even for RE, and the merchant is just a stupid "character" in my eyes. How does he get his stalls from A to B, and undetected? You see? That's why it's just silly.
Plus, all you do for hours and hours, is shoot the sh*t out of everything. RE5 is the same. The enemies are practically repeats, but having co-op zapped away the tension completely. RE6 is an action heavy game with co-op as well.
I did really like Revelations 2 from 2015. But even that was a copy of The Last of Us. Playing as Barry was so much fun, and the game was scary and fairly long too.
Capcom just do not know where to take this series anymore. It's sad, because it's their IP. Our opinions don't mean a thing.
