Contemplating getting a psp...
I'm only thinking about it at this point; I haven't had a new handheld since I got the original DS a while back and I have around $300 free to spend right now. So... Woo hoo. (:
I've always been curious about the psp but I've never owned a non-nintendo handheld before. Based on what I've read about the psp (not too much yet, I'm just in the thinking phase now) I'm thinking the psp 3000 is what I would want to go with? It looks like it would be good to me and I like the ones that some of my friends have. They look very sleek and shiny.
My only concern is that I'm jumping on the bandwagon a little late. The psp has been out for a while now, maybe I should just wait for the next big handheld to come out before spending my cash...? Or maybe there's already a better handheld out there... I'm not sure... Then again, the psp does already have a lot of nice games out for it, so that might not even be a factor.
Or maybe I should hold out for the 3DS? I don't know... I'm kind of dubious about what the game selection will be like for that, esp right at release. I'm picturing lots of games that I've already played on gcn and n64/wii(maybe). Which would be neat, but I'm up for some new material. Also, I know my sis is gonna buy a 3ds for sure so, I can just check hers out and decide if I want to get my own later, once the inevitable hype blows over.
Anyway, Do y'all think a psp might be a good investment for me? Are there any common flaws I should know about or do you think it'll soon become / already is obsolete?
I'm still in the thinking phase, like I said, so I'm not really sure what I want to go with yet. Any advice is appreciated.
What I usually consider for a system is if it has enough games on it that I want to play. What games on the psp do you want to play? That'll usually decide if it's a good investment to you.
