and i want to play an american game on it, is the only thing i need an american ps2 adapter?

American games may not work on it due to the DRM Sony puts on them.

Ivegotyou,do you have a original PS2 or slim PS2? You may need to purchase this.If it is a dual layer DVD,it may not work.
