I have played geneforge for a while now. It is a turn based strategy role playing game. I have only finished 1 (multiple times), 2 and 5. Anyway, I think I love it because I have AS. In the first one you are an apprentice shaper, a magician who can create living beings to serve you, as well as use magic for various purposes (mostly combat). On your way to your school you are attacked near a barred island that was abandoned by your people two centuries ago and end up on shore with no way to leave. You then have to interact with the local creations, as well uncover mysteries. One of the reasons I love this game is because you are alone almost all of the time in the game, except visiting different servile settlements. You have to rely on your strengths to survive. The game maker on many occasions seems to romanticize reclusiveness. Another reason for liking the game is that gaining knowledge is essential to success. Often you go on quests to find obscure writings in order to learn from them. Overall I just really like this game, It is unlike any other I have played, and it clicks with my AS. Anyone else played it?
