It's spelled "valkyrie", only one "a". And yes it is fun, great gameplay and story.

No I am pretty sure the way how I spell it is ok. But it could be both. I am not sure.

Actually, it is Valkyria.

I have the game myself, and I do have to say I find it very entertaining. I still haven't quite beaten it yet, but that's more on me for picking up new games before I finish my old ones. It's not really a game that you can really compare to anything else in terms of play style, but I'd have to say that if you like more Tactical RPG games (like FF Tactics or Fire Emblem) than there's a good chance you'll appreciate this one. But again, like I said, there's really nothing to compare it to so I'd suggest reading up on some reviews or something before taking the plunge.

As for the anime, I've never watched it myself, but I've heard from people who've both played the game and seen the anime that have said that the anime is really god awful in comparison to the story of the game.

My mistake, I was confusing this game with Valkyrie Profile; I often mix up similar words. :P Never played Valkyria Chronicles.

I hope this does not kill the thread but I often wonder who would win in a fight:

Europe vs Europa? If Europe fought Europa in 1939 which Europe would win?

( I hope this is not the death of the thread.)

I'm a huge fan of the game and think its easily one of the best titles on PS3. In terms of the gameplay it is unlike most other tactical RPGs from Japan and is more similar to Western tactical RPGs ala X:COM and Jagged Alliance, although it is more focussed on tactics and less on overall strategy than either of those.

I love Valkyria Chronicles so much that when Valkyria Chronicles 2 came out on the psp. I had to buy a psp to play Valkyria Chronicles 2. Looking Forward to Valkyria Chronicles 3 and hope one day SEGA and its developers make a TRUE VC game for the PS3. Also, I seen the anime and like parts of it but it is of course anime and never really went along the story of the game. The game has the best ending. Not much so with the anime but it was entertaining at least. Also there is apparently another VC anime coming soon.

Also Europa would win because even though Europe has airplanes and advanced tanks. Nothing can beat a Valkyria with her Azure Flames Lance and Shield.

I would say that I would edit out the valkure. I think they are basically a dead civlization. So I just want the other stuff no valkure.

But the blood still flows within the descendants of the Valkure. So technically not dead in a way.
