I know in these sort of forums, people usually talk about more 'gamer' games, but I like The Sims! I've recently become a bit addicted.

Sims 3 is coming out in 2009! 8O I'm betting my computer won't be able to run it though. :(

Does anyone know if it matters what order you install the expansion packs on The Sims 2? Because I have Nightlife and my sister has University. I was thinking maybe we could 'swap', but that would mean installing University after Nightlife on my computer and I don't want my game to be messed up!

If the expansion packs are made for the same game by the same company, they should have the correct installer to sort out any problems, patches, shortcuts, etc. You SHOULD be able to install in any order you wish.

The Sims is not my type of game - sorry :?

The Sims 2 is fun, though I tend to download so much custom stuff for it, it gets really slow.

My only problem with the Sims is the AI. They still can't manage themselves. If you're away from your computer too long you'll find their home is robbed, and they've died in a puddle of their own piss. I know that sounds macabre but it's happened every time I played. LOL :)

They really need to improve AI in Sims 3 so that they're more self-sufficient so that you don't need to micro-manage every aspect of their lives.

'Seamless' neighbourhood - ie. not having to load each house, just having it all one big thing.
Better graphics
More detail in design-a-sim.
More detailed sim personality
Easier customisation.

That's the fun of it! I like the fact that I have to look after them. It wouldn't be challenging enough otherwise.

I can't wait until the Sims 3 comes out for Mac. Unfortunately, it'll probably take ages...>_<

As much as anyone can sit and dog on the Sims, There is something about it that makes you want to play and just unable to stop.

Yeah but when their mood is really low they go into crisis mood over something as simple as going to the bathroom. They yell at me until I'm force to stop and direct them to the nearest bathroom. How do I tell the Sim "look I'm trying to build that second story extension to your house. Do you think you could handle taking a piss on your own intelligently?!"

Do you have free will enabled or not? They'll go to tbe bathroom on their own if that's on.

Also, how did you get the clock running in build mode?

I noticed something really funny the other day on The Sims. I'm good with sims who have knowledge or family aspirations, but not very good at popularity aspirations. It's like my Aspie-ness gets transfered to my sims! If I'm no good at talking to people I don't live with, they can't be either.

I'm getting better at it, though. I've managed to get one of my sims to fall in love with the maid and another sim to be best friends with the postman. Still no vampire sims, though. :x

I have made a town full of aliens (using the cheat box) and they all hate 'normies' by which I mean people with white, brown or black skin! I thought it was quite funny without being truly racist! I have also made a white Sim have an affair with a Black sim when her husband was white. It is so funny because the husband seems to think it is their kid even though it is so obviously not!

 The kid thing is hilarious! How did you get two unmarried sims to have baby? I'm pretty certain on my game they have to be married.
