Hey, for everyone who plays those horribly evil violent video games, here's a quick question:

How many people have you killed in video games versus how many people have you killed in real life?

For me, the answer would be somewhere around 2000 people within First Person Shooter games and probably a heck of a lot more in Real Time Strategy games, but as for real life my count is, of course, zero and is going to stay that way regardless of however many virtual opponents I snipe.

Only 2000? You must have a horrible K/D ratio. :P

Perhaps so, but I had gotten really good at GoldenEye back in 1999 prior to my stepdad entering the picture and outlawing video games from me in 2000 until about 2007, only now that I'm out of his house do I actually have freedom to play video games again.

Many thousands of virtual kills.

Less than 5 kills in real life.

Virtual: I've lost track. Somewhere in the thousands, I'm sure.

Real life: Seven rabbits, twelve chickens, one dog (well, she was put down by a vet, but I held her while the drugs came on), zero humans.

I've also started four virtual rock bands, but have never even learned to play an instrument in reality. I've piloted virtual starships, and flown gryphons across the Outlands, but never yet taken the controls of so much as a Cessna in the real world.

No, what you do in games doesn't control what you do in real life... :)

Lost track.

But I don't kill for real, and as for what DB said above me:

I don't know how many people I've killed in video games, but then again, I wasn't really paying attention to that.

As far as the real world goes, I obviously haven't killed anybody...

At least over 80000 once I factor in kills from various games. Some of them might have been slightly unintentional cases of friendly fire - sometimes team mates are just in the wrong place at the wrong time and well, it's not like I'm gonna not fire a large AE explosion at what/whoever we're killing just because of a minor location issue like that... at least not if it's friends and we're just doing a fun game. In case you're wondering how I can claim that to be 'unintentional' when I saw they were there... the unintentional part is that I'm sure they didn't intend to be standing where I was about to cover with explosive fire.

I do assume that we're talking real humans' avatars only right? As in pvp and FPS kills? Because if we're counting computer people too, yeah, gaming for over 20 years, I'm pretty sure that number would be up to the double digits in millions. RL: 0.

758 kills in bfbc2 at least... and I got that game roughly a month ago...

Combining that with the rest of the games, i'd come close to murdering a small virtual country, started playing games at 5 and at 12 I started playing modern (Post half-life) FPS games... plus I have two clans behind me and i'm leader of a clan that is, regrettably, on hiatus at the moment

I've killed a few million zombies, space parasites, and bad people. I've never killed anyone and only been in one fight (that I know of).

Numbers? I remember Hegemonia, where I oversaw the orbital bombardment of worlds with populations in the billion, so I'd estimate the number somewhere around a half a trillion.

Orbital bombardment is rather cool isn't it? Hey, what would you think of watching the orbital bombardment of Earth?

Video games: Possibly, millions. Terrorists, pirates, mafia soldiers (and even Dons), innocent bystanders, goombas, dinosaurs, aliens... You name it.
Real life: No kills. I'm terrible at this game.

a bittersweet moment, the orbital bombardment would mean that spacetravel was now possible, the death of everyone on earth would be unimaginable, so they pretty much line up
