Yesterday, Crytek released a modified version of the 2007 PC game Crysis (which is the prequel to Crysis 2, which came out earlier this year). The game is download-only, and cannot be bought in stores. PS3 owners can get the game by going to the PlayStation Store and clicking "New Releases". Xbox 360 owners can find the game for download under Games On Demand. The game is $19.99 on both platforms. Now listen: the console versions of Crysis are modified from the PC original. If you've never played Crysis on a PC, then disregard what I'm about to say and go download it, since it's well worth twenty bucks. If you own or have played the PC original, keep reading. The PS3/360 versions of Crysis use CryEngine 3 instead of CryEngine 2. The level "Ascention" (the one where you get to fly the VTOL to the U.S.S. Constitution) has been removed. The Nanosuit's Speed and Strength modes get used automatically if you sprint or melee. If you're familiar with Crysis 2's control layout, it's the exact same controls here. All in all it's still pretty good.
