Just curious if anyone else plays Neopets, or has played it in the past.

I played it when I was twelve. All my pets were unhappy. I have no idea what it's like now.

I used to play it a lot as a kid. It was a bit disappointing how ridiculously expensive the things in user shops were.

I play it currently. It's kind of fun, even though I'm twenty now. I like to go there when I am bored, and I think a lot of the stuff there is cute, and I'm all for cute.

Yeah, things can be pretty overpriced in the shops there, takes forever to make enough to buy things, but eh.
I feel a bit juvenile for playing it at 36, but I seem to like the variety of games and the challenge of gaining neopoints to spend.
I dont socialise there or anything.

Neither do I. And I also like making neopoints for some strange reason. I just like to watch them add up. Maybe something of the same satisfaction I get from earning money, which is what I think is silly, since it's not real.

I'm 37 and I've been playing it for the past couple of years. It's just another one of my abnormal obsessions. I have four accounts with four different pets on each one, I buy Neocash cards about twice a week, and I'm on the site every day. The few things that bother me about Neopets is that it's so expensive to buy a good paintbrush for your pet and then afterwards they can suddenly turn invisible or get zapped into a baby!
Right now there's a plot where Krawk Island has suddenly vanished and I have to search the ocean hoping to find it each day, and I earn nice little pirate-themed prizes each time I find a piece of land that may be a part of the island. It seems that they never run out of ideas... :D

I'm actually loving the Krawk Island plot. I get involved in Neopets and then it kind of fades from my interest and I manage to miss the events. So I am super happy I finally get to participate in one.

I am getting back into the flow, I had several accounts about 8 years ago, and foolishly gave them away...I had 3 painted pets on one of them :(
I have yet to do any quests or get involved in one of these plots. I love doing the scratchcards and won 10,000 on my first one tonight, lol.
It is strangely addictive. I really hope I find a paintbrush eventually , I cannot recall how I got painted pets before, I think one was given to me, one was in the adoption centre and another, I found a brush.

Watching the neopoints rise, is certainly satisfying. I think I had about 100,000 or maybe 200,000 at my peak. It is so hard starting from the beginning again.

I had painted pets too :( It's too bad I just plum forgot about them. I always just play the games a lot. It's one of the reasons I like it, so I make money pretty fast.

I used to love Neopets but I got bored of it after a couple of years. I occasionally return for a week but never for long.

It has become a lot more commercialised and slow since I was there last, and a lot more emphasis on making money from it, which wasn't there before. Reminds me a bit of some of the facebook games I got obsessed with, that also were about getting people to pay out real life cash to buy rare items.
