Why are most gamers' houses obscenely dirty?

I don't think it's just a coincidence. I've been gaming table top for 11 years now, and I'm getting a little fed up with sitting in a landfill with 23 cats or something like that.

I asked a friend who games also, and they say most people in general are slobs. Well, most houses are by no means perfect, but come the hell ON. Plates, forks, garbage bags they don't wanna bring out, disgusting bathrooms, dishes piled a foot high, that's not most people! What gives?

Turn your gaming console/computer off, clean your house, find out how many cats you have, and see about giving some to rescues if you can't properly care for them.

i'm not a gamer, but i am on one puter or another most of the day, 'cept when i'm biking. if i were to disenthrall myself from those activities, i might have a cleaner and more orderly house, but i just can't seem to get organized sufficient to do so.

ARE YOU TALKING TO ME? How irritating.

I'm referring to playing in someone else's house!

If you don't enjoy being there then why not have them come over to your house?

Why? Because they fail to frame the tasks properly.

For instance, I don't make dinner - I grind my Cooking skill (and grind faction with my family)! Straightening up the house is another way of grinding faction, as well as boosting my Organizing skill. Unfortunately, at character creation, I seem to have used Perception as a dump stat, so sometimes (okay, most of the time) other people have to tell me what needs to be cleaned up...

It doesn't make sense to make a hasty generalization about all gamers.

But some people are so focused into completing their games, they can't find the time to clean up.

I said most. And I've been gaming since I was your age, and I'm now 29. I wouldn't call this observation hasty.

But you are partially right. I think they spend so much time in some other reality, this one doesn't matter as much.

Dude, he's talking table-top gaming! Y'know, with real people? In the same room?

You remember people, don't you?

I'm a gamer, and while I admit my house doesn't look as nice as the ones in Wisteria Lane on Desperate Housewives I think I do a pretty decent job at keeping it clean. :?

I play video games sometimes and my place is almost spotless (I have an empty coffee cup here, but it's from a bit ago.) I have noticed a lot of people have dirty houses, though. When I'm not happy about how the space I live in looks, I clean it.

I clean my house two times a week, every Wed and Sun. I am a gamer and a reader and a animer(Otaku)

Because I'm lazy.
I can go without playing videogames for a week, and instead of cleaning or doing anything productive I'll just sit there reading from dawn to dusk.

I can't enjoy a game if i feel like i have to do different things.. so i would first eat, clean and do all other stuff before i put my mind to the amazing world of a game, yes i am a clean gamer haha.

Personally, I cannot stand and never will live in filth, to me its just pure laziness and shows how much you actually don't care, I always clean up after myself and clean to the best of my ability.

I'm not perfect however as sometimes I will just leave a bowl on the floor and forget it for a day or two before cleaning it up but most of the time I keep everything clean.
