RPG of course. There is nothing better than being who you want to be, and the more customization the better. That's why The Elder Scrolls games are my favorites.

Most definitely RPGs, the Elder Scrolls series foremost among them, and Dragon Age, also. Although not the sequel, it was rushed and unfinished. Greedy EA.

I wonder why so many aspies like RPGs. It strikes me as odd, given the emphasis on conversation; is it all the repetitive level grinding?

Platformers. Some excellent examples are in the video below. (Yes, even my all-time favorite)

Survival horror, I love it. It's sad though that there aren't very many survival horror games coming out these days. Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem and Silent Hill 2, two of my favorites.

I like action-adventure games with challenging puzzles, a good story, and interesting characters to meet and kill... :P

Aren't "action adventure" games and "platformers" basically the same genre most of the time?

I would have to say RPGs, because of the play mechanics. I even have a thing for old school rpg game play. Square seems to reinvent the class RP gameplay, which I love. What I love more, though is when an RP is more open.

I HATE Bethesda games with a passion, though. It's so hard to scrap up money for better weapons on Elder Scrolls. And there's the dreaded Fallout 3 games. I wanted so bad to like that game, but I can't get anywhere in it, because the creatures are too tough. So you have to go and search for a better weapon, but you can't do that! You get killed trying to find something that is powerful enough to kill those creatures. AHHHHHHHH!

Speaking of open world games inFamous is one I treasure as well as Assassin's Creed.

So the reason I like RPGs mostly is because those are the ones that are most likely going to have large areas to explore.

Real-time strategies and turn-based strategies are my favourites.

I like old fashioned adventure games almost as much (think Gabriel Knight), though but they don't have the replay value of an RTS/TBS.

Real Time Strategy, then Turn Based Strategy, then First Person Shooter.
