So I picked up GoW3 yesterday and I haven't finished the campaign yet, but I'm curious what other people think about it. Don't worry about spoiling anything for me (It doesn't matter if I know what happens, because I have to see how it happens). At this very moment of where I am in the campaign (I am in Act 4), I still like Gears of War 2 story a little better. Am I the only one that feels like this?

I love Gears 3. I'm in Act 2 right now. I might have to agree that I preferred the Gears 2 storyline. I think it was just more fun and original, where-as this is more of the same, spare the new features, weapons and game modes.

As the story progresses, it becomes less of the same I think.

boo on gears of war.

don't own any consoles but picked up the first gears of war for $10 on the PC a little while ago and loved it. Then was waiting around for the second to get ported over and after a while of waiting I looked it up and saw they decided to no longer port anything over to the PC cause of pirating issues =/

I beat the campaign last night. Overall I think Gears 3 is the best in the series. Best part of Gears 3 is the 4-Player Online Campaign Co-op. Although I have to say that Horde Mode in Gears 2 was better.

With my schedule lately, I have yet to beat it still. I'm in Act 5 now and close to the end I think. I'm going to check out 4 player this weekend and play some Beast Mode

Anyone up for some 4-Player Coop? I don't care what difficulty it's played on. My gamertag is Slimjimbiscuits. If you want to add me, just mention you're from WP.

I got the game, and finished campaign the day after it was released. I would say the best thing was the amount of different enemies, well the Locust introduced the serapede, siegebeast, and the rather funny looking blimp, as well as the digger boomer, plated Kantos, and corpsers are fought more, with young ones being fairly common. Though they Lambent are their own team now, but they were more than colour swaps, they fought different with them not flinching like the Locust do from being shot, a larger emphasis on weak spots, it was a bit of a surprise to see them shoot up tentacles, and a little while to see the best strategy was then to shoot the glowing bits of the tenticles. Oh and Lambents meant a lot of explosions.

I really enjoyed that they brought the Berserker back, the Lambent Berserker you fight was quite fun, but it was even more fun useing the Berserker in beast mode where you got the chance to be teer through Gears. In the game I mostly stuck to useing the chainsaw lancer, with useing shotgun, standard and sawed off shotgun, and the torque bow when there were enough Therons.

I stuck to using the Hammer of Dawn whenever I could get my hands on it. Do love that Gorgon Pistol as well.

The Lambent Berserker fight is amazing. From a story standpoint, I like the fact that it takes your whole team to bring it down. It make it feel a little more epic for me. I'm also glad that the final boss fight wasn't like the Lambent Brumak fight in GoW2. I actually had to do something other than charge up my Hammer of Dawn and fire away. Though, with as cool as they make Myrrah out to be, I was a little disappointed that she never put up more of a fight.
