Half Life Episode 3?

Anyone have an idea as to when they are going to release Half Life Episode 3? It is driving me insane as I have been waiting for that game forever. I wonder if they are just waiting for the next generation release of gaming systems. Its almost if they take pleasure in the torture of patience that they bring on us. I feel like a horse with a carrot in my face on a string with a blindfold on.

It is normal steam they are always this this with a Game from them because it left the story hangin at when you were about to get on a helicopter to go to that Ship that had a Weapon on it that they needed or something to finish off the rest of the combine.

ok that is funny.

Please do not be telling me they are not going to finish the series and leave us with this dangling icicle of cold injustice to the gaming community. They made such a good freaking story just to leave us dreaming of resolving the conflict and to end the torment of what might have been. AHHHHH the anticipation is throwing me into convulsive heap of slag. lol

Don't get me wrong the Half Life series is one of my favorites, but I was disappointed with the HL-E2 ending. Not that it was bad, it was just sudden and sad. All that time getting into perilous shenanigans and whatnot, only for that to happen. They definitely need to do it justice by releasing the third one with a kick-ass send-off or something. Although it would be a first. Valve have never done a "third" game in any of their series.

WHY, WHY, WHY, WHY!! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! Why must they destroy what is so great and awesome. WHY HAS VALVE FORSAKEN ME (US)! !! !! !! !! sorry just a bit over dramatic lol. I cannot understand why they would not want to do a third game especially with one that was as awesome as the Half Life series especially leaving us on such a precarious cliff hanger. Are they afraid of the number 3 or something? I have heard rumors they said they were working on it or something of that nature. Maybe they will break the curse of 3. They could just rename the game and keep on with the story. I mean technically...

I love this saying it is so true. We should rename the "schroedinger's cat" phenomenon to "Half Life 3".

It does appear to be speculation and rumors but I shall remain hopeful. Look how long it took for Duke Nukem Forever to come out.

I spotted an article a while back suggesting there won't be an episode 3, but a completely new half-life game featuring a new version of the source engine. Can't find it though.

glad i'm not the only one. poor alex i want to see how she will cope in the next game. she will probably be fine, but i ran a gauntlet of pure hell to save her life. i worry about her... i'm weird.

i also want to see the borealis and find out [hopefully] who the gman is...
