I'm signed up on the the old republic site. I also play battlefield 3 so I have Origin. In order to play BF3 a web page opens and you have to log into your battlelog to launch the game. It launches from a web page.

Since both games are run by the same company, its the same password for the old republic and battlelog.

Yesterday I get an email from EA saying I MUST change my old republic password they are cleaning up the site getting ready for launch, trying to prevent hacking, ect.. So I do that, log back into origin and battle log with my new password fine.

But over the last day, I have been logged out of battle log saying my password is not valid. So I try to log back in a few times under same password, still nothing. So a couple of times I had to use the "forget your password?" link where they send me a link to log in and change my password. I use the old republic password again because I know everything has to match. I am fine for awhile but I keep getting logged out of battle log.

So I called EA about an hour ago. They tryed to change my password on there end and I log in, still can't log in.

Then the guy from EA tells me I can't log into my account because I have been banned due to too many log in attempts.

WTF

Wow. I've been disappointed with EA before, but this really sucks. Can they unban you? have you tried arguing with them?

Nope, they said once you are banned for any reason only thing I can do is wait until the ban is over. So even though EA admits its not my fault I am the one getting screwed.

EA accounts are BS. I got a copy of BF3 for my PS3 off eBay and they won't let me into the online bit unless I pay another £7. F**k that.

Damn, this is almost like the stupid crap Microsoft does, but about 3 times worse.

I was working for Maxis when EA took them over. Lots of fear and crying during the first round of layoffs, Maxis was a family company, then that all went away with EA...

Well yesterday when I got home from work I was able to log back in and change my password on both sites. No more issues so they must have fixed it. I read on ToR fourms that it was a known issue.

I understand why I was banned, as it looks like I am being hacked, ect. My main issue is how they had no way to remove the ban from them. They need to have people that can do that.

They didn't actually do that. The code on their site automatically locked your account for a period after too many bad login attempts were made. Most sites usually have a 24 hour account lock. You are never actually banned from the system. :)

Just be careful the next time you suffer from a brainfart. If you make a mistake entering your account information, stop, and think what the username and password should be to prevent further account locks.
