I remember putting all my money into buying this nice new viper on GT2, and then when I went to drive it, I was blown away by it's inability to grip the track. I learned a lot that day.
Was it a GTS model? The real world variant has lousy grip as well thanks to no traction or stability control. My dad learned a lot when he went full throttle whilst at a complete stop and wrecked his. It irritated him later when I used GT3 to show him where he went wrong and why he shouldn't step on the gas so hard with a car thats loaded with HP and torque
He was not pleased.
Anyways, back on subject.
Racing: I've learned A LOT about cars via games like GT and Forza. I've had a few real life situations that I put my knowledge to use. A couple years ago I was driving home in the snow and went down a hill when my rear end slipped out. I automatically counter steered and feathered my way out of landing in a ditch. I didn't even think twice about what I was doing.
As far as shooting games go? Ummm........not much, other than older CoD series that prompted me to read up on some of battles fought that I'd never heard of.
