Not only will they not be stocking Mass Effect 3 but they will no longer be stocking any EA titles post SSX.

The email I was sent from GAME:

Dear XXXXX,

We're gutted.

We're contacting you with news that, unfortunately we are not in a position to supply you with your copy of Mass Effect 3. As dedicated gamers, we know how disappointing this will be for you, and we apologise sincerely for the inconvenience that this will cause.

We really value your custom. To prove this we will be giving you £5 worth of Gamestation Elite XP points when you come into store between 1st - 16th March to claim it. Obviously if you have placed a deposit we will also give you a full refund at the same time as transferring your points.

We are very sorry for any disappointment and inconvenience this may have caused.

For more information about Mass Effect 3 please visit www.Gamestation.co.uk/masseffect

Eurogamer - GAME not stocking Mass Effect 3

They claim it is because of 'supply issues', it has more to do with EA calling in it's debt that GAME owes them. For once I am on EA's side, this looks to be the beginning of the end for GAME, if you lose EA then it's pretty much GAME over.

I received pretty much the exact email from game on tues and it the final straw for me placing any pre orders with them in the future, I will be dropping by their website every so often to see if there is a bargain or two to be had, but will be moving to a more reliable seller from now on.

This story was already gathering momentum before the mass effect 3 announcement as I had my order for The Last Story cancelled at the last moment for similar reasons and there has apparently been big problems with game attempting to stock PS Vita's when they are being asked for cash up front by Sony. I'm loath to even enter any of their shops now as there just seems to be shelf upon shelf of preowned titles, with pretty much the only new games being limited to the current top 10 or 20, plus the incessant hassle that you get off of staff to pre order or buy used (I am not blaming the individual staff members for this as they are only carrying out the corporate instructions in order to remain employed)

Anyway, rant over.

Ubisoft have cut them off for Vita titles also no; Tekken for the 3DS, Boomtown, Last Story, EA titles, Mario Party 9. So it looks like Nintendo has had enough also. The shop should just become pre-owned as it cannot get any new stock in. I bet Activision want their money next.

The staff are supposed to harass you when customers walk in (which I also greatly dislike).

At my local Game, staff members won't harass you as easily if you walk in, with your head up and looking towards your desired area, then head straight there.

And at my local Gamestation, staff members are usually just behind the counter. So it is all good.

The places where I feel people harass you are in places like Apple stores...

Seems they have a clearance sale, and we all know why right?

Employees ain't getting paid this month, so best to sell your stock before they steal them for compensation!

I don't want to repost my joke, so just see my first response near the top. XD

Nintendo and Capcpom seem to have withdrawn from GAME too.

I'll miss Game. I usually call there when I'm in town, although a lot less recently. Feel sad for the workers as well.

GAME is the UK equivalence of Gamestop.

Here are some more titles that GAME/Gamestation will not be stocking (EA titles included):
Street Fighter X Tekken
Asura's Wrath
Kid Icarus
Tiger Woods 13
FIFA Street
The Sims Showtime
Mario Party 9 (released)
The Last Story (released)

Late deliveries of stock include:
Mortal Kombat GOTY
Ubisoft Titles (for Vita)

Capcom have announced that Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City may also not be stocked and that it is 'still up in the air'.

So it's not just EA, it's also Nintendo that are cutting them off. It seems that Capcom and Ubisoft are joining the club. I wonder how long it will take Activision to cut them off also.

game deserve everything they get - just like all the other stores which have gone under. they charge utterly ridiculous prices for games including pre-owned.

Indeed, but it seems they are being picked by Vultures now. I got Killzone 2 for a meagre 50p!
