Fighting games have been one of my favorite game types since I was young.

My favorites being Naruto: Ultimate Ninja series for PS2, as well as the Dragonball Z Budakai and Tenkiachi games.

So far I have bought Marvel Vs Capcom 3, and DBZ Ultimate Tenkiachi. MVC3 is fun, but can get annoying after a while. DBZ Ultimate Tenkiachi, I thought was going to be fun, but ended up being a horrible disappointment.

I've heard about BlazBlue and the recent Ultimate Ninja Storm games. Are these a Must Buy?

I'd really appreciate some feedback, I seriously want to play a good fighting game.

I'd recommend Virtua Fighter 5. It's slower paced and much better balanced than the likes of Marvel Vs Capcom. It's a deeper game to learn, but that's its reward and it helps that it's pretty cheap, now.

I'm not a huge fan of fighting games, but I've played Blazblue and found it to be an excellent game. Really loved the art style, even though typically I dislike anime art. Very different movesets for each character.

So far I've seen good reviews for these games:

Tekken 5, Street Fighter IV, BlazBlue, Virtua Fighter 5, and Street Fighter X Tekken.

I want to get one of these, I see myself getting BlazBlue the most.

King of Fighters 13 is an excellent fighting game from Atlus. The character designs are very interesting and the game is rewarding and fun. MLG (Major League Gaming) is going to host a tournament for this. It's not a big name like Street Fighter but it's worth looking into.

Here is some high level play so you can get an idea of what it's like (skip to 1:35):

Fighting games are kind of my thing (my special interest) and I play them competitively. But even if you just mess around it's still a good time. You can get this game cheap, I got it for $30.

I love the art style in Blazblue but I find the game very dry at competitive levels of play, for reasons I won't get into right now, but if it looks interesting to you go for it. The online for it is GREAT almost no lag whatsoever. There is a big emphasis on huge combos, unlike Street Fighter, in which even the longest combos rarely go over 8-10 hits.

I play Street Fighter IV also and I think it's a bit slow-paced, otherwise pretty good. It's VERY balanced with the newest patch. I like the emphasis on outthinking your opponent too, and spacing is important in this game.

I don't play Tekken but I'm friends with one of the best Tekken players in the world. That game is very complex to do the advanced stuff, but it's actually easier than the other games mentioned to get the basic combos down. Spacing is not a big deal in Tekken it is more about making quick reads, thinking on your feet, and knowing when to attack and when to defend in all situations.

Virtua Fighter is even more complex than Tekken, however, it is an incredibly solid game. I don't think it's very fun but that's just opinion, you may think the complete opposite.

So basically it's all about taste...I can't tell you which fighting game you would probably like the most it's all about what characters you like best, how fast paced you want the game to be, etc.

Try to play the recent Mortal Kombat game Mortal Kombat 9. Although I haven't played it yet but I heard it's a great game with an advanced fighting engine and the new X-ray moves, not to mention Sub-Zero is turned into a cyborg instead of his buddy Smoke in the new game. I also heard Street Fighter x Tekken, Tekken 6, (Super) Street fighter 4, and (Ultimate) Marvel vs Capcom 3 are great fighting games on the PS3 for you to play.

My roommate, who's a much bigger fight game fan than me (personally I only like the realistic games like UFC Undisputed 3), rented Street Fighter X Tekken, and he said he loved it; the only problem he had was in the online.

Look up Arcana Hearts 3 as well, I heard that can be a very complex Fighting game.
