I was on another forum discussing Rayman Origins, and someone asks what do I play it on (they assumed I played it on the PS3/Vita), but when I said the 360, the mod seemed disgusted by it as well as another member (initiating a smilie that is sick).

I honestly don't get this gesture....first of all I own all the current consoles and second what makes one console so special over the other one? It's pretty pathetic if you ask me to cast yourself to only one particular console.

Any thoughts on the matter? I do have some bias of preferring a certain gaming company BUT I do play other games in relation, as sticking to just one particular thing seems like you are limiting yourself.

Death to 360!! !!

Kidding, as long as there has been fans there have been fan wars. Some take it as a joke like me. Others will lay down their life for it. Each system has its own ups and down but the fight will never end.

It seems to be out of spite more than anything. It's normal to have a favorite, and it's even normal to find fault with others you may not like as much, but to me it feels like it's done simply to be a giant douche. People act like they're better just because they like one system and hate another. It's the same kind of deal with the stupid "hardcore vs. casual" BS; People act entitled and when a company doesn't cater specifically to them, they feel slighted. It's completely childish behavior.

I don't understand it either. That's why I have a 360 and a PS3, I like both of them. I also own plenty of Nintendo products. Hating one just for the sake of hating is just limiting yourself.

I don't understand them either, but for some reason, I've noticed Nintendo fanboys tend to be nicer. I should know; I was one for awhile. Then I criticized the story mode of Brawl for being too shallow and the 3DS for having a weak launch lineup and they downgraded me to "fan". I'm worried they'll bump me down to "afficionado" if I buy Little Big Planet Karting; they almost revoked my membership when I bought a 360!

All jokes aside, being a fanboy just makes your opinion worth nil. You can't be objective because you're blinded by...well, blind devotion. Also, Microsoft? Really? You LIKE paying for 720p Netflix and Halo jerks who teabag you when PSN is free and has 1080p Netflix AND Little Big Planet? Don't give me that whole "they got hacked" thing; I got a free copy of inFamous and LBP, so who really won THAT one?

Oh? You have Rare? No; you have Rare's reanimated CORPSE. Rare died in 2001. Microsoft has the Rare name and nothing more. The Stamper Bros. took the soul with them and that's why we have Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts which I simultaneously love and hate. Now they're Microsoft's Kinect b***h and nothing more. Sad face.

I dunno; I guess I'm a reverse-fanboy for Microsoft. I recently graduated to the big boy console with the PS3 and PC, but I'll still get the Wii U. I played it at E3 last year. Yeah, it looked that amazing because it IS.

Because the xbox is just better XD

It really matters to some people. They must have very sad lives I think to care that much about what console someone else is playing a game on.

This one guy at my school nearly blew a blood vessel when he overheard me at the campus coffee shop say that I saw no difference between playing Prototype (one of my favorite sandbox games ever) on PC vs 360. He butted into our conversation (dude, even I know you're not supposed to do that) and went into a rant about why the 360 is better for everything and why PSN is crap and my buddy Ryan, a profesional troll, mind you, goes "yeah, but everyone knows that the people on Xbox Live aren't real gamers; they're random jerks who get way too excited every time a new CoD or Halo game gets announced". To which I respond "yeah, you're not a REAL gamer unless you've stayed up all night saving the f**king world at least once and I'm talking single player". Then my buddy Beau goes "either way, I only own an Xbox 360 so I can play Midnight Club: LA and drive like I want to all day when I get home. "Besides, Prototype sucks. It's all about inFamous 2."

That guy took off in a huff and forgot his Full Throttle, too. Probably to go play Halo: Reach.

And cry.

I love how this devolved into making fun of 360 fanboys mostly when Sony fanboys are equally as annoying. The Vita is NOT perfect and neither is the 3DS. Can you join us on the Plane of Objectivity if you're going to participate in this conversation?

Oh, by the way, OP; Rayman Origins? Prolly one of the best games I played all last year and DEFINITELY the best looking. UbiSoft impressed me save for that it actuallly, timeline wise, takes place AFTER Rayman 1. But, then again, Rayman has never been consistent, so why start now? Call it "origins", but don't make it a direct prequel. Sure. Then again, UbiSoft is in France...

Eh, I think gaming is mostly subjective, as are many other types of art or media, and that's why I hardly listen to reviews, the only few I do being ones like Classic Game Room because Mark gives his honest opinion and explains it rather than just giving an arbitrary score. I'm fine with people having their own preferences - it's just that when they start claiming to be smarter or to speak for all the other "hardcore gamers" that it becomes annoying. Sure, there are general things most seem to be in agreement on, like excessive glitches and bugs being bad and what not, but there are so many different and unique types and genres in gaming that it would be near impossible to say that any one is perfect.

Personally have both the 360 and the PS3 have issues. I recently loaded up my old Dreamcast, expecting the worse. Nope the Dreamcast is a bajillion years old and it still reads CDs. My 360 and my old original Xbox, both have a very hard time reading disc. The Xbox 360 survived the Red Ring of Death, it's the old arcade one not the slim one. My old original Xbox doesn't read disc at all. And my PS3 just recently stopped reading disc and it's only a few years old.

I'm a heavy gamer, so this makes me very sad.

To be honest, xbox 360 isn't my cup of tea. As far as exclusives go, almost all the ones that interest me are on the ps3, and most of the rest are on that wii of mine that I rarely turn on. A console is a big purchase, and I tend not to make such a purchase unless I can think of 5 exclusives that I really want for it. I'm not into fps, so Halo and Gears aren't my thing, nor am I into racing games, so I don't care about Forza. I was interested in Alan Wake, but I hear it was released on Steam or something not too long ago, and Deadly Premonition is getting remastered and released on the ps3. While I've always really liked the Fable games, I've lived without them so far, and I hear the series started going downhill with the third game. There are plenty of ps3 exclusive jrpgs to keep me busy, so I'm not too concerned about missing out on the 2 that I can't play. I know there are more downloadable games on xbl, and I do like downloading some of the more unique titles from psn, but I'm not the type to buy a system just for that, and I can't say I have any specific xbl title in mind that I really want.

As someone who's more of a single player gamer, I don't consider online play the best thing since sliced bread. At most, it's fun to occasionally hook up with forum friends for a night of online fun that wouldn't have been possible otherwise. I just wouldn't be justified paying for a service I'd rarely use, and I've always felt that xbl should be free anyways. In general, MS tends to gouge people, and I refuse to fall into their trap. I don't get the appeal of this whole cross game chat thing, because I don't like to be disturbed while I'm playing a game. If a friend sends me a message via psn, I tend to read them, and maybe respond promptly, but I don't like getting into long conversations, and I only really answer these people because they're my friends. They also tend to respect my space, so it's not a huge issue.

As far as controllers go, I don't have anything bad to say about 360's controller. I do think it's highly overrated though. Now this notion of Dualshock controllers being uncomfortable has been floating around, even though no one seemed to complain about it in past gens, and it has worked for 15 years. Because I don't come across a 360 controller very often, I tend to find the controls confusing, and prefer to stick to the controller that has fit perfectly in my hand since the ps1 era. I even bought Nintendo's Sony knockoff "Classic Controller Pro", which is a little bulky, but still feels fairly comfortable. Obviously nothing beats the original, but it's a reasonable substitute when I opt to turn on my wii once in a blue moon.

Anyways, those are my reasons why I'm not a huge fan of the xbox 360, but I know it all comes down to personal preference. Rather than taking the time out of my day to bash the 360, I tend not to talk about it. It's not my thing, so it doesn't concern me. I think a lot of people have way too much free time on their hands. You'd think they'd use more of that free time to enjoy some games on their system of choice, instead of trolling discussions about another system.

It is definitely a good game, but I noticed that it is too hard for the audience it is meant to draw in...I managed to get all 10 of those teeth but the last world is insane!

And yeah, every single one of those companies have a flaw, to which is why I bought all the consoles to be pleased in all ways possible. :XD:

Heck, even SEGA had flaws in their consoles....probably even worse then the current 3 now! (and I have LOADS of current gen SEGA games.)

Oh and speaking of "Speaking for the Hardcore", look up "SEGA HD", it is a real website where they love SEGA games....except on Nintendo....ironic since the Wii U will have HD on it. :P

@Tross: I cane across it in a forum that isn't really known for bashing a console since the forum focuses on only ONE type of series...but then again this series was on Sony Consoles before the developers "betrayed" the Japanese so to speak and released it on the 360. XD

Hm, now I want to try that game XD I've never tried Rayman before though!
I'm personally sad that Gamecube was considered such a horrible system in its time. I think it's wonderful, and while I liked my PS2 (and remember playing some Xbox), I just think everybody puts it (and the Wii) down because it's different then the other two. More relaxed, for the most part. But different doesn't mean bad, and I think people just don't get that.
What I'm trying to say is that I don't really get console bias either, there are great aspects and flaws to each system :)

I don't remember or I never knew that the Gamecube was considered horrible. It had plenty of games I enjoyed, Resident Evil remake, Luigi's Mansion, Super Smash Brothers Melee, just to name a few.

The Gamecube, Dreamcast and PSP have the best libraries out of all of the consoles I think, but they are under appreciated due to this.

I agree on 2 out of three. Dreamcast and Gamecube have amazing libraries. For the third, I'd have to drop in either PlayStation 2 or Nintendo 64. I've not owned a PSP simply because there aren't games for it that interest me, and the ones that did were either sucked (Daxter, Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters) or I borrowed a friend's PSP to play it (Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep).
