I was born during the N64 era, but for many years now I've loved games from the NES/SNES era, usually even moreso than modern games. I find some of the best SNES and N64 games to be much better than today's games in general. And I don't just like classic Nintendo games, I also love the classic Sonic games for the Genesis/Megadrive, and even more than Mario. Anyone else feel the same?

Is this thread only for young people, then? I like classic games, anyway.

I mostly play modern games at the moment, but I do enjoy my retro from time to time. I've been keen to try out the online play on the emulators but not had anyone to try it out with.

Yup! :) Not NES, but definitely SNES and N64.

Chrono, Earthbound, FFIV and FFVI, Super Mario RPG, Super Mario World, Final Fight 3 (probably wouldn't stand up today but I had so much fun with it with my brother), Link to the Past, Ocarina, Banjo-Kazooie, SM64... oh man, there are so many.

I started gaming when I was... euhh, twelve, maybe? And if you'll note my age, that wasn't that long ago. ;) But my Dad, being awesome, started me gaming with the SNES and then later the N64. So glad he did!

I don't put myself in any one group. I'll give any game a chance. You can't really know what you like until you try it for yourself.

Of course not. You're welcome to post anything related to classic gaming. But it goes without saying that older gamers will have fond memories of classic games, so I thought it would be more interesting to address the question to youngsters like myself.

I do! I'm a big fan of the old Sierra-style point and click adventure games...I used to play those for hours when I was younger. I also really like a lot of the old super nintendo games, that was probably my favorite console system ever released. It just had so many fun and innovative games!

I love any good game, I don't care how old it is.

My own era was the SNES, so I love 2D games in that style, and old CRPGs.

I play several games on MAME regularly. My favourite game ever is Ghosts and Goblins from 1985.

My favourite to play on MAME is The Simpsons. There IS a PC version of the same game, but it'll never be as good.

I'm curious: MAME?

Meh, console games.

I prefer old DOS games myself. DOSBox and Virtual PC are a must for any old school gamer.
