I made a choose your adventure type thing...
I've had this idea bouncing around in my head for the past week, a choose your own adventure youtube video set in skyrim concerning a hermit in the hills that gets lost on his way into town for more food supplies.
I think this is possibly the first thing that wasn't required of me that I actually put a large amount of effort into, so I'm kinda proud of it even if it is amateurish in most parts. Here's a link to the video page: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3b2OTIzYIV0
After watching it do you guys have any comments, criticisms, advice on what I did?

Haven't watched it yet but it sounds as neat as these other videos I've found based off of the slot mini game from Super Mario Bros. 3. I've got a whole bunch of Let's Plays and walkthroughs on my channel, but all I've ever done was leave annotations linking to other games in a series, either sequential in release or timeline. Wonder if I should attempt to do something like this.

You've got a really good idea there, though something needs to be done about the boring traveling time. Its great fun when you're the one playing and running around 'aimlessly' but not so much if you're watching someone else do it.
Have you heard of quest threads? They're pretty much choose your own adventure games set on forums and image boards but everyone decides what the character does. If there are conflicting opinions the GM picks whichever he likes, has most votes, or whatever. I think if you were to put the two together it could be a very interesting take on quest threading.

hmm, your right, I was thinking about speeding up the walking, or cutting it out entirely but didn't want to jar the viewer out of the video with a big jumpcut in time. maybe the next one I'll just fade to black and then fade it back in when I get to the "conclusion" of the choice so there's not a whole bunch of wasted time running around.
Also there have been a few videos on what your talking about, it was basically a lets play of skyrim but the player left all the major decisions to his viewers, like race, class choice, where to go first, what quests to do. I can't really do something like that right now since I don't really have dedicated viewers.
Thanks for the feedback guys, it was very informative, its nice to know that people thought my idea was interesting if a bit rough around the edges, but criticism is there so I can improve my work the next time.
