I took a game of my son's to a local used CD and DVD store and they used a buffer machine. Took the ring out but my son still had some problems playing the game. It was suggested to install the game to the hard drive, that worked, and the game has worked ever since.

Sorry, but if its a circle, then itcut through the actual disk. If it helps, its caused when an xbox 360 is placed on its side and then, when the game is being played, slightly moved. so annoying
There may be hope. I had a pretty deep circular scratch on my red dead redemption disk after moving the xbox 360 from vertical to horizontal while playing.
I used toothpaste (don't use anything with microcrystals etc. they will make it worse -- just use something simple). Then I rubbed the toothpaste over the scratch for about 15 minutes with my thumb applying quite a lot of pressure (careful not to break the disc though). It will actually remove a layer of the surface and when you wash it off under tap water the area will be super shiny. If you're lucky it will now work.
you guys obviosly dont no s**t if you think it is ruined for lifei have had 3 disk with the perfect circle scratch really deep i took the game to video eazy and they fixed it for me for 8 dollers it has worked ever since that was 2 years ago still workin fine
