Mine is to become a rich vendor/highly skilled PVPer in a good clan.

To have the most aesthetically pleasing character (to me), have the cutest pets and maybe kill at least one major raid boss per expansion. Being decent at pvp is another goal but I've kinda given up on super amazing. Yes I'm easily satisfied.

To have a pretty looking character with a large wardrobe. Roleplay a character. Make money. Make online friends.

I think the biggest thing I've always tried to do in MMOs is master Tradeskills. I play the "Auction house/Bazaar" not so much to get rich as to buy cool stuff/supplies for my mains and many alts. When I played EQ I mostly ran solo but, in WoW I've learned to enjoy raiding. I also participated in PvP during "Classic" WoW and acheived "High Warlord" status in the old PvP ladder system. I used to be pretty interested in collecting pet/mounts but, I finally figured out that since you can only really use one of each at any given time it's not so much worth it.

Well, one of the things I aim for is being self-sufficient, although I do enjoy being part of a guild and socializing and raiding and stuff. I like doing the weird archievements (go fish at Ogrimmar with an alliance character, lv 40 8)), and making loads of money. I picked gathering professions to maximize money earning, and every once in a while I did some speculating, with good success.

Having the biggest damage/kills in battlegrounds in WoW makes me feel reeaaal good about myself.
I always want to be number one, but I can't stand playing arena.

At times I had both most damage done and most healing done in 29 BG's with my Priest :D. Actually a bit bad, because it meant hunters and rogues and such weren't doing their job properly.

To avoid making contact with other players. It is the greatest challenge you can have in a MMORPG.

Actually, my goal is to have fun, but I find it bothersome when there are people who try to keep in touch after we grouped once. Therefore, I end up having to avoid people (because I am a weird "needs-people-but-hate-them" kind of guy). Besides, every MMORPG gets boring after a few weeks; Puzzle Pirates and Guild Wars are the only ones I keep coming back to every few months/years.

Have fun, and that really depends on the MMORPG. In WoW (quit some time in the burning crusade expansion) I just loved battlegrounds/or whatever they were. It was awesome. I also enjoyed getting my skills to the max and everything. Raids were a bit too bothersome with people not showing up/going later than planned.. etc. Since I had planned before and after the raids. Which didn't really work out.
